It goes without incident

You tell Robert to take a seat at a desk and you sit behind your desk.

"Robert, I know you're very smart, so don't give me your 'struggling with the work' crap. You are very capable of doing it. Why aren't you applying yourself?"

"I'm can't help it, Mrs. Shaw. I'm so distracted by your beauty, and I can't focus on the work."

"Jesus, Robert. You do this with all your female teachers?" He nods his head in response. "Did it ever work?"

"It worked with Miss Rogers."

"Of course it did. I'm serious here, though. You're close to graduating, don't you care about your future?"

"I do care, but I just don't know what I want to do with my life."

"Is that all the problem is? I was the same way in high school. What helped me was talking with someone about some of my interests and I found my career path that way. If you could come in early tomorrow, we vould go over some of the things you're interested in and see if we can find a related career."

"Okay, that sounds good. I'll see you tomorrow morning then, Mrs. Shaw."

"Goodbye, Robert." You find it odd that he was so in favor of your idea. You thought you would need to do more convincing. You don't think much more about it, you just want to be with your husband right now. You hop in your car and head home.
