It’s Ayita

When Eve sees the face of the girl holding the sign, she feels a sense of familiarity. She knows she’s seen her before, but where was that again?
“Oh … my … god!” The girls says with an ecstatic look on her face. “I can’t believe you actually came to visit me.”
Those first three words made Eve remember.
“Ayita?” Eve asks. “Oh my god, I wasn’t told you’d be here.”
Eve drops her luggage and gives Ayita a big hug. “How are you? What are you doing here? Are you coming back to college?”
“I’m fine,” Ayita says. “Better now that you’re here.”
Ayita gives a shy smile while mentioning she likes Eve being around her.
“I live here, Eve. Like I said, I’m half Cherokee. Northern Georgia is where we have the ‘Cherokee nation’ reserve.” Ayita continues to explain.
Eve turns around to a giggling Sylvie and Lorena.
“So we are taking vacation our vacation in a native reserve?” Eve asks.
“You looked so cute when dancing with Ayita that one night.” Sylvie says. “I just figured I’d test you again.”
“What test?” Eve asks, “I don’t get it? What are you testing me on?”
“Sorry sweetie,” Lorena says. “But if we tell you it the test won’t work.”
Eve rolls her eyes and sighs.
“Well if you’re going to be like that, maybe I should spend more time with my new BFF.”
Then Eve grabs her luggage and Ayita’s hand and walks off.

When Eve got outside she finds a cab waiting for her and her friends. They manage to all get in, one in the passenger seat and the others cramped together on the backseat. Eve sits at the back, in the middle. Ayita is on her left and Sylvie on her right.
“So Sylvie hasn’t told me anything about this trip, Ayita.” Eve tells her new best friend. “Any chance you can tell me what she’s got in store.”
“Not a word, Ayita.” Sylvie jokingly threatens.
Ayita looks over at Sylvie and says, “You don’t scare me.”
Then Ayita looks back at Eve and says, “There’s a western themed resort not too far from here. You can go horseback riding, an old fashioned saloon, they even rent out clothes from around that period.”
“I see.” Eve nods. “So basically we can walk around dressed like cowgirls for a week.”
Eve meant it as a joke, but it turns out Sylvie had already hired some clothes for them to wear. When they arrive there and Eve finds out she groaned. But in the end she sucks it up and puts on the cowgirl outfit anyways.

“So, how do I look?” Eve asks while posing for her friends.
“You look amazing.” Ayita says.
“Careful not to pose too much, Eve.” Sylvie says. “You might cause Ayita to fall for you.”
“I think it’s too late for that.” Lorena says. “I think Ayita might already have a crush on Eve.”
“Lorena!” Ayita replies, clearly feeling a bit embarrassed for the comment.
After that exchange Eve can’t help but think back of the moment she had her first lesbian kiss. It was with Ayita, after all. Did that really cause Ayita to get a crush on her? But what troubled Eve the most is that maybe she could have developed a crush on Ayita.
