It's probably going to be more comfortable there

"Mmm, much as I was looking forward to kissing you, I think it can wait till we get to the hut. It's what we came for after all"

"It'll be worth the wait" Olivia smiles at you and your heart leaps

You walk onwards, further into the forrest, this time hand-in-hand. Not only does it feel good to have Olivia's soft hand in yours, but it also saves you both the occasional fall. Also, Olivia prefers to have her hand on top, with yours coming in from behind. A perfect fit, no need for awkward wrist twisting!

After 5 minutes you ask

"I thought it was really close"

"Well..." Olivia looks worried.

"Don't tell me we're lost!"

"I remember this tree here, the one with that twist in the branch"

"Maybe the hut hasn't survived the passage of time?"

"Oh look, here it is!" Olivia releases your hand and runs over to where a few long branchs are stacked against a large pine trunk. "There's not much left of it, but I'm sure we can patch it up."

You were expecting clothing to disappear as soon as you got to the hut, but thinking back to the look on Olivia's face earlier, you know it will happen. All in good time.

Olivia has thrown down her pack and is rummaging around in it. She comes up with a large knife.

"Help me get some ferns" she says innocently. It probably hasn't occur to her that some people would consider it threatening to bring a knife on a first date. Not that it worries you, it's a sensible thing to bring when heading into the bush.

Soon both your arms are stacked high and you bring them back to the hut. You use yours to soften the ground inside, and Olivia uses hers to clad the outside.

You have to admit that it's very cosy inside. The scent of the pine tree fills the air, the ground is not too hard, and the ferns cast a lovely dappled shade inside.

Olivia joins you inside, crawling beside you. There's not a lot of head room.
