?Hey babe,? says Jack, my ex. He pushes his way past me and plops down on my couch like he's the king around here. ?I heard you were getting married, so I thought I'd stop by and say 'congratulations.'?

?Oh,? I say meekly. Jack always made me feel like a subservient mouse. Maybe that's because he's so tall and muscular. As I join him on the couch I look over his muscular body and get weak, just like the old days.

I scurry off to the kitchen quickly. My hand is in the fridge getting him a beer before I remember that he's not my boyfriend anymore and I don't have to do things for him. I haven't even seen the jerk in a year.

Then I remember my wish.

I put the beer back in the fridge and think about my life fearing rejection. How would an irresistible person act? I walk back into the living room and give Jack the most flirtatious smile of my life. ?Jack? I can't seem to find any beer. Would you have a look for me? Please??

For the first time I've ever seen, Jack smiles sheepishly. ?Uh, sure babe.?

I sit back down on the couch as he gets up. With a silkiness in my voice that surprises me, I say, ?And get me a glass of wine, would you??

Every last bit of intelligence leaves Jack's face as lust takes over. ?Absolutely! I'll be right back!? He scurries into the kitchen.

I laugh. Jack had always been the pushy one, always able to get me to do everything he wanted. Everything except sex, which is why he eventually dumped me. It feels good to be in control.
