Chapter 30 by Vain Vain

Can Jack get some sleep though, and what about the next morning...?

It's another strange morning, with an unexpected guest

It was Sunday morning already, and Jack woke up to realize that it was now a full week since his wife had left him. Despite the anger welling up inside him every time he thought about Shirley, he was **** to admit to himself that he'd come to miss her a lot over the last couple of days. Not like he was willing to forgive her betrayal, but he could certainly need her warmth to keep him company during these early hours in the morning.

And speaking of needs, he found himself mostly annoyed by the obvious bulge in his boxers when he stood up from bed. Still he couldn't just jerk himself off like he wanted though, as every time he tried he could only imagine some hot young woman who looked by far too much like one of his own three daughters. Of course he could probably get on with it anyways, but for several reasons he just didn't feel that comfortable about it at all.

Just like usual the girls were still asleep at this time in the morning at least, which allowed Jack to eat his breakfast in peace, without anyone else to remind him of their previous day by the pool. It wasn't like he couldn't stop thinking about those hot young bodies in their skimpy bikinis, but even so it was much too easy for him to make some weird associations every time those memories crossed his mind, to the point where he decided to keep the girls out of his sight for as much as possible during the day.

To that end he started off by taking a long walk around the neighborhood, which he hadn't done for this entire week, and he felt just a bit more refreshed upon his return to the house. On the way inside he happened to notice a girl jogging off down the street though, which caused him to smile as he checked out her long legs and bouncing firm bottom, trapped inside a tight pair of shorts. That is until he suddenly recognized the tail of short, blonde hair sticking out from the back of her sporty red cap, and he came to realize he was back on square one once again.

"Did you meet with Kim on your way back?" Catherine asked when Jack stepped inside, with the sultry kind of smile on her lips that made him feel even more like an idiot after mistaking his youngest daughter for somebody else. Still he couldn't quite keep his eyes in check however, as he found himself staring at the girl in front of him, and he just barely managed to change his expression to an admonishing glare before she noticed him checking her out in her minimal outfit.

"They called me from work, and asked if I could do a few hours." She said, as if this would somehow excuse her choice of clothes, though she certainly didn't show any signs of regret when she grabbed a pair of shoes and stepped outside. Instead, the high heels only made her skirt look even shorter than before, which Jack was sure she was well aware of when he watched her swaying her hips while she walked down the driveway.

Just a few seconds later he met with Jennifer as well, who was at least more decently dressed, though the lack of glasses and a slight suntan on her cheeks seemed quite enough to make too her even more attractive than usual. Perhaps she was even wearing a bit of makeup, to further emphasize her wide, emerald green eyes, but then again it really didn't take much effort to put her on equal ground with either of her beautiful sisters.

"Has Catherine left yet...?" She asked, while poking her head out the door, and then quickly put on her shoes when her father pointed her in the same direction which Kate had just disappeared to. Apparently she'd wanted to join her sister for a walk, and to eat some breakfast together at Catherine's work, which seemed like an unusually good idea for being her own. "I'll be back in an hour at most!"

"Well, that's a first..." Jack grumbled to himself as he stood by the door for a couple of moments, watching the last of his daughters make her way down the street, but then his eyes narrowed even more as he noticed some motion out by the bushes right next to his car. This time he wasn't all that surprised to see her, but even so it seemed like a strange coincidence when a certain, young reporter showed up on his doorstep for the third time the same week.

"Seems like you're getting used to all this already..." Samantha commented as she strolled up to the front of Jack's house, with an enigmatic smile on her lips while she looked back at the girl who'd just barely disappeared out of sight. "It's not just bad things coming out of your divorce, huh?"

"And what's that supposed to mean?" Jack growled at her, as he felt like she was trying to fish for something he most certainly wasn't willing to admit to anyone, not even himself. At the one hand she was obviously just referring to the fact that he'd had the chance to get just a bit closer to his daughters since Shirley had left him, but the way she said it combined with his current mood made him really touchy on the matter, and the last thing he wanted was for somebody else to point out his own flaws.

In fact the mere insinuation was quite enough for him to lose his patience, and without another word he simply turned around and stomped up the stairs. He knew what she wanted after all, without asking any further questions, and a few moments later he returned to the door with her camera in hand. He'd still not found the time to copy, or even erase all the pictures yet, but for the moment he just couldn't care any less what happened to them.

That wasn't entirely true though, as he suddenly remembered that some of them just might get published in one way or the other, and he really didn't want any further publicity either...

So, what should he do then...?
