It's absoloutely extortionate

Maryanne read the contract presented before her with trepidation. The first thing that struck her was the pay. It was not an impressive salary, even for an assistant, and it seemed just barely enough to pay her bills, leaving nothing for her personally. What really shocked her was how the pay would be given to her. Apparently it would be paid not to her, but would instead be paid entirely into a “trust fund” controlled by Alice.

“T-trust fund?” Maryanne said, her voice trembling.

“Oh, yes, it seemed rather odd when Alice wrote it into the contract, I didn’t really think that…” Roy began.

Maryanne remembered that Roy was about to think that Alice was somehow controlling or manipulating her, and she found herself unwittingly trying to correct him.

“Oh, yes! I meant it when I said Alice is more competent than me financially. I’ve made such a mess of my accounts lately I’d really feel much safer if Alice handled them for me. I trust her completely.” Maryanne said, telling the biggest lie she’d ever told.”

Roy shrugged in acceptance. It wasn’t the oddest he’d seen Maryanne act today.

Maryanne also noticed that the contract contained phrases like “Ms. Chambers will work overtime as needed at Ms Corbin’s discretion” and “Ms. Chambers will do anything she is humanly capable of to assist Ms. Corbin and ensure her happiness and comfort in the workplace”. Maryanne had a first class business degree, but it didn’t take a bureaucratic genius to realise this contract would give Alice obscene amounts of control over her (completing the huge amount she already had).

“Only a complete idiot would sign this contract.” Maryanne thought to herself.

Alice smiled at Maryanne sweetly so Roy could see and said cheerfully “Alright, Maryanne, I’m eager to start working with you, so sign it already.”

Maryanne put her signature on the dotted line, sealing her fate. Just yesterday she had been the boss and Alice was her assistant, now the roles were completely reversed, except there was no way Alice would’ve worked for a contract like this. Roy looked over the contract, satisfied with it, and promptly left the two women alone together again.

Maryanne was carrying a special briefcase the bank had given her containing all her savings. On Alice’s command she heaved the heavy thing up onto her new bosses desk. Alice opened it eagerly, and her eyes opened wide in delight as she saw the amount resting inside. Maryanne couldn’t bear to watch. The money in the briefcase was meant to be enough to pay off the last few years of the mortage on her luxury apartment, and provide for her comfortable retirement, with plenty left over for emergencies. Now it all belonged to Alice.

“Wow, Maryanne. Good thing you squirreled away so much. I can’t wait to start spending this money! I can buy the best designer dresses, diamond rings, luxury holidays in the Bahamas…”

Maryanne shot daggers at Alice as she gleefully went through all the ways she was going to spend HER money.

“Oh, don’t worry Maryanne, I’ll provide enough for you to live on, but only if you do whatever it takes to be the best damn assistant to me you could possibly be. Phew, I’m glad I did all that! I don’t even need the video to control you now. By the way, take that overcoat and those heels off. You don’t need to wear clothes at work from now on, remember? Express your nudist lifestyle, girl, you’ve earned it!”

Maryanne bowed her head in shame and acquiesced, taking off her heels and overcoat, naked for the first time in her new bosses’ office.

Alice sat down in her new black leather executive’s chair, enjoying the comfort that Maryanne used to feel every day, putting her feet up on the desk. After contentedly sitting there for a little while, looking out at the view, thinking “I made it.” Alice looked back to the blushing Maryanne.

“Well, slut, now you’re my new assistant, I suppose it’s time to introduce you to all your co-workers…”
