In Vera's arms squirmed just that. It was a girl. A tuft of red hair on her squishy little head. She was pink and wrinkly and she gave off a toothless mewling wine, her limbs jerking uselessly and were covered in fluids that kept her warm in the womb.

You had been god for months and he had sleepwalked through it like you had found a new favorite flavor of ice cream or had just bought a new magazine with an interesting story written in it.

This was entirely different.

You saw this crying little blob of fresh humanity and you were overwhelmed with emotion. You could not place what emotion exactly, but it **** you to smile and cry and it tugged at you from every angle. You wanted to hold her, but you were also afraid that touching the poor thing would destroy her.

You were a daddy. A daddy to a brand new baby girl in a paradise of your own making.

Vera had taken a rag and wiped the baby clean of fluids and dressed her into a rabbit-skin diaper and wolf-pelt swaddle. She handed her over to Maya, the new mommy overwhelmed with similar emotions as the baby latched onto her breast, filling the baby's stomach with nurturing milk.

Lara put her head on Maya's shoulder and gave the baby a similar maternal look. The other women crowded around for a better look, some thinking she was the cutest thing ever. Brenda and Lara cocked their eyebrows, not sure what to think. You feel Donar's hand slap you hard in the back of the shoulder.
