Naberrie's Adventures

Chapter 1 by alphakennyone alphakennyone

Greeting, I'm Padme Naberrie. I am one of the few handmaidens appointed to serve Queen Amidala of Naboo. If you don't know already, I am actually the Queen of Naboo. Naberrie is just another maiden name that I go by.

I haven't seen much action in my adult servitude, but I have had some exciting memories in my childhood. I was like a rogue, always curious of new things and always getting into trouble. I was fairly popular back then, but ever since I became a handmaiden, life is now too boring for my taste. It would all change when the Trade Federation made a blockade around Naboo and they insisted in making a treaty with the Queen.

The quiet but bustling city of Theed became a concentration camp. We were limited to going out during certain hours of the day, and a strict curfew was put upon everyone, even children. If any of us were to act out of turn or sneak out during the night, heavy consequence was either put on them or their parents. But all in all, I needed a new change in my life, being a Queen and handmaiden after all.

I spoke out too soon. Day after day it was countless debates in the Throne room. I am honest to say that I hoped for a brighter day with time to rest in a comfy bed instead of a uncomfortable throne. The Trade Federation would contact us via hologram receivers and demand a treaty that would enable trade between them and the people of Naboo. It wasn't long until they would shoot any ship coming out or into the Naboo airspace. They would send countless armies of droids that irritated me everytime they came near. To top it all off, all of our wireless communications were jammed.

But it all would change during one day, when a droid squad was escorting me as Queen, a couple soldiers and all my handmaidens. All of a sudden, two blurs came from a elevated balcony and a sound of light sabers ripped droids in two and put their squad in decommission. When all was clear one of them called out to me.

"This is a dangerous place to be, my Queen," the Jedi Guardian with long flowing locks said to me. "Do you have a ship?"

"All ships are stationed in the hanger bay," the dark-skinned soldier said to the Jedi.

"We must leave this place right away my Queen," the Jedi insisted, but I insisted him back.

"I am not going to leave my people here to suffer and to die, Jedi," I said, even though the people of Naboo were one of the things last on my mind, but even as I said it, it made me feel much more confident.

"If you stay here, you will suffer as well," he said in his low but striking voice. Right then and there I saw a glimpse of the second Jedi, who was a Knight. He looked about eight years older than me, but his look struck me so much, I could faint. In these passing moments I felt attracted to these Jedi more and more.

"Then my trust goes to the Republic," I said, in desperation of not getting shot or killed.

They escort the group down some halls until we came to a iron blast door. One of the younger soldier with our group overrides the lock and the blast door sudden lifts from its down state and an opening is cleared.

This was the hanger bay. I remember as a child that I ran in here many times to get away from angry merchants and guards looking for my royal ass. I would hide in the Royal starship from time to time. The hanger bay didn't look like the one I saw ages ago. The walls were strewn with blaster fire, as I remember many soldier dying in this very room and droids ever so advancing toward the throne room.

The Royal starship stood in the center of the hanger, with its door still open. Several of my pilots say on their knees as droids were surrounding them.

The two Jedi stayed calm and never did they panic, even when facing the enemy.

Did the Jedi negotiate or did they fight?
