The Reality Control Program

It had been a warm day in Metropolis and when Marcus arrived at his parent’s house, he could see his mother working in the kitchen, probably preparing dinner. He quickly put his bike into the garage and entered the house. “I’m home, mom!” he called and his mother showed up in the doorframe.

“Good evening, Marcus, how was your day?”

“Good, nice lectures. Anything here?”

“Not really. A package arrived for you, probably the phone you ordered. And Nora is coming over for dinner. Her parents are on vacation and I asked her if she wants to eat with us, no reason for her to cook for herself.”

Marcus nodded and moved back to the hall, where he spotted a strangely big package. He picked it up and noticed its weight, then he rushed up the stairs and placed it on the desk in his room. From the window he could look over to the neighbor’s house, where he spot some well know red hairs. Oppose to his room, Nora, the 19 year old daughter of their neighbors had her room and he spot her laying on the couch in her room, watching some TV.

Then he grabbed a scissor and opened the package. On the top of the content he noticed a letter and quickly unfold it to read:

Dear customer, this package not only contains your new mobile phone but it also contains a new version of the Reality Control Program (RCP) which allows it user to manipulate reality*. I hope you have many fun with it.

Quickly he grabbed the manual and started to browse through it. Apparently the modified phone wasn’t the only part of the RCP. It also said that the program would modify his view, to get a majorly upgraded perception.

Even more curious, he unpacked the phone and switched it on, just to see a simple RCP logo as the boot screen. A moment later the home screen appeared and he noticed several things from the manual. He pressed the icon “Initialize” and a moment later it got black in front of his eyes. When he regained his consciousness, he noticed that the “Initialize” button had been replaced by a button named “RCP”.

He shook his head and was surprised about everything when he looked around. He focused himself on some items in his room and in his field of view details about the objects appeared. Within a few minutes he had mastered that the info only show when he needed them. Then he grabbed the phone and while he opened the RCP app, his eyes went out of the room, towards the neighbor’s house. Nora had appeared at the window, just in her underwear, obviously getting ready to come over.

For a moment he hesitated, as he knew her for so long, but then he tipped a few commands into the program’s command prompt.
