Intro: Dr. Doom. What happend until now

The United Nations hall was filled almost to capacity, while the stage above could barely accommodate all the reporters. Many ambassadors were talking frantically to each other and the tense atmosphere was almost palpable. Words like historic or very worrying were often heard. Not since the French incident with Wakanda had the world been so nervous. Back then, the small but technologically far superior country had openly threatened the world what would happen if it was provoked again. With the appointment of a new Black Panther, however, the situation had stabilised. But the conversation today was of a completely different calibre. While Wakanda's offensive capabilities were still hidden behind their camouflage field, this was not the case today. Everyone in the room knew who would be speaking today and what this dwarf nation in the middle of Europe was capable of.

Absolutely nothing.

The small kingdom was an open book and about the size of Luxembourg. The military consisted of a royal guard and had closed its borders after the fall of the USSR. Apart from a few resources such as gold and other precious metals, the only important thing in the country was the supply of rare earths. It was one of the few sources in Europe and the only reason why anyone was interested in this country at all. After the fall of the USSR, the old royal dynasty had taken control again and the current king was a quiet and popular ruler.

It suddenly became quiet when the doors opened and two combat robots set off. Instead of arms, they each had a six-barrelled gattling gun and a multiple rocket launcher on their shoulders. The diplomats' bodyguards swallowed hard as the bots, weighing almost 2 tonnes, stomped down the corridor and escorted their master. Amidst a flurry of murmurs, accompanied by a veritable storm of flashing lights, their lord and master moved to the podium where the spokesman immediately stood up.

‘What is this?’ he asked, trying to suppress his fear. The bluish glow in the two robots' chests reminded him of an ARK reactor, but the king's appearance was even worse.

He slowly lifted his head and a silver mask could be seen under the green, armoured chain bonnet that completely covered his face. With a simple hand gesture, the two robots turned and assumed a defensive stance.

‘Step aside, Mr Chairman. The ruler of Latveria will now address the world!’ the king's pleasant voice boomed through the hall's loudspeakers. At the same time, the same voice sounded in the native language of each ambassador directly into their headphones.

Nothing about these words seemed threatening, but the experienced chairman sensed that he had already lost control and stepped aside.

‘This is the King of Latveria speaking. King Viktor van Doom, the First!’

Doom climbed up the small platform and took up a majestic position behind the lectern. Many of those present recognised similarities in his armour. It looked like a medieval version of the Iron Man armour and yet it was clear that this armour was extremely sophisticated.

‘Representatives of the nations of the world. Hear the words of Doom and know that this is not Doom's wish, but your actions have made it necessary for Doom to intervene,’ he said calmly as his voice was simultaneously translated to all devices. ‘Doom does not allow anyone to twist his message or change the meaning of the words through their lack of education, so Doom speaks directly to them.

‘What do you think you are? Who do you think you are? Where you are? This is the United Nations. We don't tolerate such shenanigans here,’ the Russian ambassador said, but Doom turned his head towards him, seemingly unimpressed.

‘Doom forgives you, Mr Zegreski. But further disruption will not be tolerated. As regent of the land of Latveria, Doom has come to warn the nations of this planet. Doom has had enough of how miserably their leaders have failed and the resulting threat to Latveria has **** Doom to intervene. The last decade has been a collection of mistakes, ineptitude and incompetence that not even Doom expected. The extent of their failures has only been compounded by self-proclaimed Avengers, mutants or would-be mages, though Doom admits that they have not all failed completely. However, a significant change is now needed. Therefore, Latveria has decided to close its borders, strictly scrutinise all trade agreements and maintain its territorial security. From now on, any attack on the people of Doom's kingdom or its borders will be met with an immediate attack. In addition to the royal guard, an army of combat robots and state-of-the-art drones are available for this purpose. Doom's kingdom also has nuclear weapons, but such weapons are too primitive and beneath the honour of Doom.’

A brief murmur went through the hall as the Russian ambassador stood up.’ And does that mean that the world should tremble? How could your small nation possibly acquire such a high-tech army, especially nuclear weapons! Ridiculous! Please. Latveria is not Wakanda and you are no Iron Man, even if your party costume is quite cute.’

However, no one laughed and Dr Doom turned to him. Without saying a word, everyone, including the ambassador, sensed an unspoken threat hanging in the air. ‘You're right. Stark's armour was interesting, but flawed. However, Dr Doom has been able to optimise both the reactor and the armour. As for the nuclear weapons. Dr Doctor Doom was able to build weapons in primary school that a nuclear bomb is completely obsolete against. Believe it or not, but Dr Doom has the power to protect his citizens. The comparison with Wakanda doesn't fit either, as the kingdom of Doom is able to protect its borders and is not overrun by any fish people. However, Doom thought that a demonstration would be necessary...’ he said in a threatening voice as the UN screen showed several images of smoking buildings with the corresponding maps. All locations near the border of the small empire,,, Doom, army had 2 Hydra bases and a SHIELD base near its borders destroyed today. This time Doom was merciful and didn't kill anyone, but that was the only act of mercy. Furthermore, Latverian satellites have discovered this spaceship, which has left Earth. The group on board is called the Eternals and are linked to the creation of the giant in the ocean. Doom also reveals the existence of a Hydra spy in the UN Council. The Russian ambassador is probably unable to refute this evidence. As a final warning. Doom will fight any country that violates Latveria's borders. With these words, he left the room followed by his two combat robots, just as security forces arrested the Russian ambassador. Dr Doom had just demonstrated his power to the world and this was a step he had gladly avoided. However, his words and actions were a wake-up call for some. The Avengers were no longer alive or on Earth. The world had changed fundamentally since they had appeared. There were new heroes, new villains and new supertech. Everywhere things came to light that had previously remained hidden. Some voluntarily, others were **** to do so.
