Chapter 11 by jealco

Into the garage, behind the other house, or attempt to get out of the neighborhood?

Into the garage

The better your concealment, the more likely you are to lose them. The grand question, though, is how fast you can pull this off. You roll up the driveway, cutting the engine as you coast into the ransacked garage. You drop the kickstand, pain flaring from your abused heel again, then pad across the cool concrete floor of the garage to grab the garage door.

With a grunt, you heave mightily on the bottom of the door, adrenaline fueling your efforts, and the garage door rattles downwards. Unfortunately, it's tracks have been damaged, and it only closes about 2/3rds of the way before slamming to a halt. You swear at your luck, before dashing for the door into the house, pausing at your bike just long enough to snatch the shotgun from it's holster. A moment later, and you're through the kicked-in door to the house, debating where to hide, in case they find you.

Upstairs is more defensible, but it also cuts of your means of escape. Downstairs leaves you with multiple doors to cover, but it will be much easier to bolt, if need be.

Upstairs or downstairs?
