Intervene

Creeping closer you peer around a row of shelves to discover that Ritter has pined Cassie against the wall, one hand holding her frail wrists above her head as his other hand tugs at the button of her jeans. There is no mistaking the look of terror in the girls eyes as she struggles feebly against his overpowering grasp, her torn T-shirt hangs around her waist in rags exposing her perky breasts.

You always knew that Ritter was going to be a handful, but you had hoped that you would be able to keep him in line, the display in front of you makes it clear that he is out of control.

Ritter isn't wasting any time, with the button of her jeans undone he practically rips the zip apart as he pushes her jeans down over her hips.

The sounds of there scuffle completely cover your footsteps was you step around the shelf and approach the struggling couple, for the second time in a matter of minutes your knife slides out of it's sheath. The razor sharp blade easily penetrates the soft flesh at the base of Ritter's skull, driving up and into his brain. For a moment everything is still, then Ritter's lifeless body slumps to the floor.

Cassie stares at you for moment in shock before struggling with her torn clothes, trying to cover herself. There is a brief flicker of gratitude in her eyes before the memory of her brother hits home, with a cry she makes a dash towards the back room.

You catch her wrist dragging her to a stop before she reaches the door,

"Your Brother's gone" you utter softly "There is nothing you can do for him now".

Spinning around Cassie glares at you with a look of pure hatred in her eyes, she jerks her wrist free of your grasp and you notice her hand balling into a fist, if looks could kill you would be joining Ritter on the floor. For a second you thought she was actually going to lash out at you but eventually she just slumps to the floor sobbing uncontrollably.

" You have a choice to make" you say as you take a step backward "You can join with me and my group or you can go it alone".
