Infected Armaldo

Just as you and Vargus were making progress on the dirt path, you spotted a figure a distance from where you two are. You extended your arm out to halt the Croconaw from moving.

“What is it?” The gator asked confused before looking ahead to see something up ahead.

“Someone’s up ahead. Looks like they’re doing something.” You spoke as you tried to focus your view up ahead. You can see that the body color was a grayish-blue color and that it had a pair of wings with the same color of its body with yellow trims.

“Looks like an Armaldo, but what’s it doing?” He spoke out before noticing it turning a bit.

With that, you got your answer when you saw a pair of legs hanging semi-limply out of the plated bug’s mouth.

“Looks like he found another victim...” you muttered as you only saw a flash of green around the mouth before the Armaldo opened its mouth and sealed it in with one more swallow. The Armaldo turned once more to where he would’ve seen the two of you, if it weren’t for Vargus pushing you to the ground. Though you did catch a glimpse of the rock/bug type sporting purple eyes.

“It’s an infected. I don’t know what the victim was, I just hope it wasn’t another non-infected.” you whispered towards your water type companion.

“A real shame whoever that was.” Vargus stated, “If we’ve only arrived sooner, we probably could’ve prevented it.”

“Maybe…” you stated as you pondered about the others. ‘I hope they didn’t get caught by that infected either.’ You thought to yourself as you think about how to get past the infected bug.

“It’s the two of us against it. Plus, it is an Armaldo, I have water type moves and if you have Iron Tail, we could take it down together.” Vargus suggested.

“True, and I do have Iron Tail, but we don’t know if the other Pokémon did any considerable damage to it. It could easily be able to fight well. Also Type advantages only provide a small advantage. I fought a Semipour who just turned infected. It put up a good fight despite my advantage and being weakened from just waking up.”

“Okay, what do you suggest?” Vargus asked you, keeping pressed down to stay low.

You look around your area and noticed bushes and trees lining around them. “Maybe we can sneak past it. We crawl along behind the bushes and only peek when we get to the trees.”

The Croconaw thought about it before answering. “Alright, Thant can work. Let’s be quick and careful.”

You nodded and moved towards the edge and moved through the bushes. You and Vargus moved forward from behind the bushes, making sure to be careful not to make a lot of noise. You made progress and got behind a tree and looked forward from the side.

You saw that you two have gotten close to the Armaldo. From the hard member at its legs, it’s definitely male and you can see bumps from within its belly, looks like whoever it was had woken up and started struggling. The large mantis looking Pokémon charred lightly, clearly enjoying the feeling as you moved your head back.

“We’re close to him now, keep quiet and let’s move.” You spoke and Vargus nodded.

The two of you went and resumed crouch-walking as you moved a couple of feet from your last point. As you were walking, you accidentally bumped into some bushes with flowers, spreading pollen around that blew into Vargus’s nose. He snuffled from it and struggled not to sneeze. You heard him and saw he was about to sneeze, so you desperately moved to him and covered his mouth, muffling it a bit with your paws.

The two of you remained where you are, looking nervous as you hoped that didn’t draw the Armaldo’s attention.

“Maybe he didn’t hear that.” Vargus whispered to you as a few seconds past and nothing happened.

You exhale in relief as you took a couple steps back before a large claw slashed in front of you, cutting the bush in half. The both of you yelped at that before the same black claw, which had paws at the base of them and grabbed the Croconaw and dragged him up into the air right at his face. The Armaldo huffed hardly, clearly looking for another meal before Vargus blasted his face with Water Gun. The Armaldo hissed in pain and anger as he slashes him to the ground hard. The Armaldo was raising his arms as you started to notice stones started to shake around. 'Ancient power!' he thought to himself. Before one of the first stones arrive, you ran out and jumped on the Armaldo's back and wrapped your arms around the plated bug's back.

The Armaldo hissed from you constricting his neck with your arms as you tried to hold it back for Vargus to get himself back on his hind paws. Your cheeks sparked with electricity before the Armaldo's body was covered in electric power from your thunderbolt attack. The infected mantis hissed in pain as he moves around frantically. The Croconaw was getting his breath as he got up just as the Armaldo shook you off and thrown you to the ground. You grunted from the impact as you got up.

"You alright?" Vargus asked and you nodded.

"We have **** now, we have to beat him." You got up and course electricity through your body just as the Armaldo let out a roar towards them, with you seeing a small pair of appendages within the Armaldo's mouth. 'They may help him pull their prey into their mouths...' you thought as you saw the Armaldo lunge at the Raichu with its large claw, which you deftly dodge as you leapt into the air and swung your tail around as it hardens for the iron tail attack. The Armaldo used its other claw to somewhat block the attack. It hisses in pain, but remained strong as the two of you struggled before it shoved it away and made you move back.

Vargus took the opportunity to blast the Armaldo straight in the face with water gun. The Almaldo made a pained cry as it stumbled back a bit. It stumbled a bit from the blow, but doesn't look seriously hurt as it did let out a cry in the air.

"Heh, you don't scare me!" Vargus stated, as he blasted another water gun at him. As you see this, you felt the area around you grow brighter and feels even hotter. You then took a look up and saw that the sun was shining brighter than earlier and even saw the water gun somewhat becoming thinner. When the attack landed, the bug hissed, but wasn't as heavily impacted from before.

"It just used Sunny Day!" You spoke out rubbing your forehead from the heat. "Water type moves won't be as effective now!"

"It's still the best chance to beat it!" Vargus stated as he goes towards the Armaldo, his tail becoming surrounded in water while you go charge as well, tail hardening. The Armaldo braced himself, his plates hardening as he tanks the two's attack, pushing him back. The Armaldo was actually showing fatigue now, panting a bit from the two's ****.

"We're doing it, we just may have a chance." Vargus stated confidently, but it soon was dampened when he saw the infected Armaldo clawing at the ground and digging through it. You tried to use thundershock to stop it, but it missed as he went underneath the ground.

"Where is he?!" You cried out looking around, moving slowly as to not be a stationary target. "I can't tell where he is!"

"He could be anywhere!" Vargus stated, trying to look around for any indications. Soon they started to feel a light shaking around on the ground just as you start to feel shifting underneath. You try to move out of the way, but the shaking starts to become intense that you have a hard time keeping your balance. Soon the ground lifts up and blasts up mounds up dirt and stone, causing you to be caught in the impact as the Armaldo rises up.

"Rai!" Vargus cries out as you hit the ground hard, daze and covered in bruises. You tried to get up on your feet, but the powerful ground type move left you weak and unable to stand. You can feel the ground lightly thumping as the Armaldo was approaching you, staring down at you eagerly before you saw Vargus jump up and bite him on his upper body hard. You tried to stand back up once more, but you collapsed on the ground. 'I'm too hurt, I need an oran berry.' You thought, noting that your bag was knocked off and covered in dirt near by.

You heard a pain cry as you saw that not only had the Armaldo shook off the Croconaw, but struck him with X-Scissor. The Croconaw fell onto one knee, struggling to stand to protect you from it. "V-Vargus... J-Just run, get out of here!"

"I-I won't, I-I can still help." Vargus mumbled, clearly in pain, but unwilling to abandon you. The Croconaw was about to use Water Gun once more, but the Armaldo used his paws to grab his mouth shut while using the other to lift him up by the head. He cries out in pain due to the squeezing as the Armaldo grins in a sadistic, perverse manner as he proceeds to...
