Eventually, the men of the watch arrive at the Fist of the First Men, where you wait until the other rangers arrive. When they do, Qhorin Halfhand, Jarman Buckwell and Thoren Smallwood lead three scouting parties to investigate the wildlings. You are placed in Jarman’s party.

Your party goes to the Giant’s Stair, a mountain entrance to the Frostfangs. Jarman gives you the position of second in command.

“Harrin, I need you and Arn to climb the Stair. Drop a torch from the top if you see wildlings, two if you don’t.”

After your break, you continue the climb, until you successfully ascending the Giant’s Stair. Upon seeing no sign of wildlings, you fling two torches from the top. After throwing it, you notice smoke from a fire, coming from the Frostfangs.

“Shit. Arn, go back down and warn Jarman. I’m going to investigate.”

Without waiting for a response, you begin your descent down the opposite side of the mountain. You get about 200 feet down, about a third of the way, when you feel the snow start to slide. You’re caught in an avalanche!
