Ignore the slate and be more nice to him from now on.

John looked down at the slate, and wondered.

"You will ignore the slate no matter where it is or what I do with it. Also, you will be more nice to me from now on." Her reaction was not what he expected she turned and gave him a toxic glare.

"What the hell? You don't get to order me around!" She stood and faced him. "Maybe I want that thing you got!"

She took a couple of confident strides forward, but John thought quickly. As she tried to grab the slate he tapped the gem three times as before and said, "You will not touch this slate!" She stopped trying to grab it, but instead started yelling in his face.

God, she had a bad temper.

He tapped the emerald again. "You will ignore the slate no matter where it is or what I do with it. Also, you will be more nice to me from now on." She stopped dead in her tracks.

"Right, that thing is none of my business." She said this in the same passive tone as when she agreed to stop calling him a dweeb. "But you still don't get to tell me what to do! I will be as bitchy to you as I want!"

He tapped the gem three times. "You will be completely respectful and compliant to me from now on!" He demanded.

The hard look vanished from her face and suddenly . . . she was smiling. "You're right, John. I'm sorry if I was mean before. I don't know what happened to put me in such a bad mood. Is there something I can do to make it up to you?"

"No, it is alright. We all make mistakes. You can go back to watching TV." He said. She nodded compliantly and returned to the couch. He tapped the emerald one more time. "You will have a less explosive temper with everyone from now on."

"Ok, that will make getting along with people a lot easier." She said, again passively.

His sister sat calmly on the couch enjoying a TV show, and John stared wide-eyed at his new found source of power.
