Chapter 24

What do you choose?
Ice Weapon
As much as you knew you needed to train, you didn’t want to make a fool of yourself on the first class. You would never live it down.
You set down Crocea Mors, your sword, and looked over at the girls. Yang was looking eager. She obviously wanted to join you in a fight. You could see her being really useful and she was strong. Pyrrha was smiling at you and when you met her gaze, she nodded to let you know that she would be happy if you chose her. Her skill would make this a really easy fight. Then your eyes fell on Weiss, who still seemed a little depressed.
It was an easy choice.
“Weiss, come on.” You said.
“What?!” Yang gasped.
“Huh?” Weiss asked. Pyrrha just looked disappointed. “Really?”
“Yeah, come on,” You tell her. “Let’s show them what we can do.”
“Y-yes.” Weiss replied and she actually looked a little happier. “Of course!”
Weirdly, you were able to bring your shield with you. Glynda only considered your sword or the girls a weapon. Shields were a defensive item. Huh, you would have to investigate how this worked. Could you use two girls and no shield? Really, it seems you were a summoner from an RPG game. You walked up to the front of the class and into the arena with Weiss next to you. Cardin was on the other side wielding a large mace.
You shifted nervously. If Cardin was anywhere as good as the others, you were outmatched and now you didn’t have a sword to fight back. You had to rely on Weiss, who admittingly was a very good fighter. She must have noticed your anxiety.
“We have this,” Weiss assured you. “He’s a muscle head type. Focus on defending and I’ll take him down. I’m your sword here.”
“Right, let’s do this.” You reply and felt a little better.
“Are you ready?” Glynda asked and made sure you and Cardin nodded. “Begin!”
Weiss was right. Cardin immediately charged forward and swung his mace at you. You raised your shield and took the blow directly.
Immediately regretting it.
“Oomph!”
It felt like you were getting hit by a truck. The blow sent your stumbling back. If it wasn’t for your Aura, you were sure your arm would have broken. Thank god for Pyrrha saving your ass. Weiss appeared next to Cardin and jabbed him in the side. Apparently, he had been hoping to take you out fast enough that Weiss couldn’t do anything, but that planned failed. You realized the fatal flaw in his plan and the genius of selecting Weiss over your sword.
Weiss was a weapon to everyone.
Which meant to win, Cardin had to beat YOU.
Without a sword, you could focus purely on defense. It wasn’t something you liked to admit, but you were much better with a shield than a sword. Protecting people was always something you imagined doing, so you spent a lot of time being able to hold onto that shield. Striking back with a sword was your weakness. Cardin was much faster and stronger than you, so even with your blade, you doubted you could hurt him.
Weiss was another story.
Cardin would try to attack you and when his blow hit your shield, he was temporarily stopped. That’s when Weiss struck. Cardin was thrown back and he stumbled. That small window allowed Weiss to use her main attack. A wave of ice washed over him, freezing Cardin in place. He cussed and tried to free himself, but Weiss wouldn’t give him that time of day. Smirking, a glyph appeared under him and she locked eyes with you. You felt a grin form on your face too.
“Do it.”
Cardin went flying through the air and smashed into the stands outside of the ring.
“Winner by ring out!” Glynda called out. “Jaune Arc!”
“Go, boss man!” Yang cheered.
“Excellent job!” Pyrrha added.
“Woo, Jaune!” Ruby called down.
You waved to them, feeling rather happy, even if it was Weiss who did everything. Then you notice Blake staring at you with an odd look on her face. Like she was contemplating something.
Class ended and you were back in the locker room. With class over and no more classes that day, you didn’t have to worry about rushing. The girls were hanging out, talking while half clothed, and discussing the fights, who did the best, and so forth.
“Did I do well?” Weiss asked, showing up next to you.
“Amazing,” you assured her, putting your arm around the girl’s hips and pulling her close. “I knew you were the right choice.”
“I’m glad you decided to use me,” Weiss huffed. “I make an excellent partner.”
“What about with Ruby?” You asked and her expression suddenly became tense. “Listen, Weiss. You can be kind of… brazen and judgmental on new people. Have you tried getting to know Ruby? She’s your partner for the next four years.”
“Yes, but YOU own me.” Weiss pointed out. “She’s just working with me.”
“Try to get along with her,” You suggested. “She’s a good friend of mine and I know you two will be best friends in no time. She’s working hard on being a good leader like I am. But no one is perfect the first day.”
“I… guess.” Weiss conceded. “I’ll try.”
“Tell you what,” You tell her. “I’ll find a time for both of you two meet and I’ll be there to help bridge the awkwardness. Would that be okay?” It was another conversation you had to add to your list to do, but you might be able to have some fun with it while helping them.
“I would be agreeable to that.” Weiss agreed. “Let me know and I’ll try to be less judgmental on her.”
“Make sure she does her homework,” You whispered. “She seems like the kind to slack off.”
“Not if I can help it!”
You chuckled to yourself, knowing Ruby would hate that, but would help her for sure. Ruby was a lot like you. She needed a push now and then. You had just gotten your armor off and sitting in the middle of the girls’/ your locker room with just your boxers. Some of the girls were heading to the showers and you were debating joining them, when someone walked up to you.
“Hey! Jaune, right?”
You turned around to see a hot girl with long bright red hair, almost orange, green eyes, and a tight purple top, pants, and matching boots. She kind of looked like Pyrrha, but fought like Yang. She had gloves and liked hand to hand combat, but her Semblance let her channel her aura into her fists to make powerful blows or fire them off like energy blasts. The downside was it drained her Aura, so she drained her energy to do extra damage to her opponents.
“Oh, hey, er…” You remembered she had a weird name.
“Koriander,” the girl replied. “But you can call me Starfire. All my friends do. I saw your fight. Your defense is lacking, but you know how to maximize using your weapons.”
“Thanks?” You replied, confused. “I saw your fight. You are pretty offence oriented too.”
“Heh, most people here are,” Starfire laughed. “You can’t stand back and let Grimm wail on you.” She noticed Pyrrha heading toward the showers. “Partnered with Pyrrha Nikos, huh? Lucky.”
“She’s a good friend and partner,” You said firmly. “Whatever her past achievements are doesn’t matter here.”
“Good attitude to have,” Starfire told you cheerfully. “Oh, meet my partner.” She reached out and seemed to scoop up a girl out of nowhere. “This is Raven.”
“Hello.”
Her response was pretty emotionless. If you thought Blake was sort of emoish, this girl made her look like a peppy school girl. Raven was currently wearing a pair of simple black bras and panties, but holding onto black pants. Her hair was a deep purple, not quite black, with dark blue stripes. Her eyes were also dark. You remembered in her fight, she used gravity dust to propel her around the arena and throw weapons before having them return to her.
“Hey, Raven.” You said, noticing her body. Starfire had a nice rack, but Raven wasn’t a slouch in that department. Her hips and thighs were pretty high level. In fact, you couldn’t resist touching them. Reaching forward, you rubbed her ass with one hand while running your other hand on her thigh. “You have a sexy body. You should show it off more.”
The girl actually showed emotion when she blushed.
“Thank you, Jaune.” Her tone was still pretty even, but you could hear a little bit of happiness in it.
“EEE!” Starfire squealed. “She does show emotion besides irritation!”
“Shut up.” Raven muttered.
Of course, that was because of your rules. Raven was flattered to have your attention. For good measure, you also felt up Starfire’s breast. They were nice, but not Yang level nice. The two of them left but not before Starfire ‘accidently’ unclasped her bra. You didn’t flush, as you were used to this, but that didn’t mean you didn’t enjoy it. You were sweaty and decided to hit the showers when you stopped.
You didn’t have to go alone. Your team and Ruby’s team was in the showers, along with all the other girls. Why not join one?
Who do you join in the showers?
