IIIA. The Coming of Age

Just as in the Jewish faith a son is shown to have become a man with a Bar Mitzvah, in the Church of Jocasta there is a coming of age ceremony for a firstborn son. Once a firstborn son achieves the age for Alpha status, his mother will celebrate that night by being the one to take his virginity. While some newly-established Alphas choose other women (or just whoever happens to be close at hand), those in the Church of Jocasta believe that it should be the Alpha's mother who takes his virginity.

The Church teaches that it would be wrong to think that a man just happens to become an Alpha. Their birth, development, and achievement of Alpha status indicates that the gods favor their family; the good genes of a mother and father, combined with good parenting. Not only should the new Alpha be celebrated and congratulated, but his mother as well, for she is clearly following the path of Jocasta.

On that fateful night, a mother will take her Alpha son up to the master bedroom; that room is now his. It is there that they will share the truest act of love that any mother and son can share. After 18 (or 19, depending on the specific Oedipal Zone's laws) years away, the Alpha son will finally return to the body of the woman who made him. The mother will finally get to enjoy the (once forbidden) fruits of her labor. As both climax, the Alpha son's seed flowing into the womb that he came from, together they will become one being.

In the unfortunate event that a mother is no longer living when her son comes of age, this duty will pass to any elder sister, cousin, or aunt. It is common to choose a female family member who resembles the Alpha's mother, and she is referred to as "mother" during the coming of age proceedings (and sometimes afterward, if the Alpha desires a continued mother/son relationship/marriage).
