I head to an event instead

It wasn't my celeb client, but my receptionist Angie.

"I'm afraid your client couldn't be here," she said. "Family emergency."

That was actually perfect! I could head out on the town and enslave celebs as I went instead.

"That's okay, Angie," I said. "I'll close early for today. Just go home, all right."

Angie smiled appreciatively for the time off. "Thanks, boss."

I left the office and decided to head to a nearby Hollywood event.
