Feeling confident, you decide to go it alone. You start by heading to the door that the goons had exited through when Ivy kicked them out. Pulling the door open just a crack, you peer inside. There doesn't seem to be anyone around, so you go through the doorway.
There is a hallway with a couple of offices along the side. Large glass windows frame each office, so it's easy to see in, but there's also nowhere for you to hide. Luckily, nobody else is here. You hop into the first office and take a look around, but it's been emptied. The second office is the same. It appears as though the goons have already cleared the place out. As you step back into the hallway, you faintly hear a couple of voices in the distance, followed by a door slamming, then silence. You follow the hallway toward the sounds, finding a set of double doors around the corner. As you approach the doors, you don't hear any voices anymore, but the rumble of an engine firing up indicates that you might not have much time before they escape.
Needing to act quickly, you rush through the doors, only to see a white van pulling away from the building. Sprinting after it, you try to grab onto the handle of the back door, but super-speed is not one of your abilities and the van quickly accelerates beyond your reach. "Radio!" you shout to nobody as you think out loud. Your ditched motorcycle is on the other side of the building, but if you can get to your radio in time, maybe they can track the van from satellites or something. You turn to run back to your bike... and run right into a fist. Before you can figure out what's going on, you get slammed again and you go down.
"Heh the boss is going to love this," is the last thing you hear as everything fades to black.- - - - - -
"Shadow, wake up!" Someone is loudly whispering at you. You shake your head to clear the cobwebs. That's about all the movement you can manage though, as your arms and legs are restrained, pulled tightly in every direction. "Shadow, come on!" the voice whispers again. You open your eyes and look at the source of the voice.
