You wake up instantly adopting to the life of Lovie, the New Yorker. Such a shitty life! You get home slamming the door to your shitty place on Stanton Island. You were supposed to be a small town girl from Pennsylvania to make it big in the big apple, with acting, dancing,banking, or something that would make filthy rich and popular. That was 20 years ago and things are bad. You work in failing Café, are continuing to jump from job to job, and at some parts of your life you have had to...get paid through sexual favors. Divorced and defeated you grab your shoes off your tired feet and throw them across the room. Your face hits the couch and you scream into the cushion. "I am supposed to be the greatest and yet I am stuck in this life! How can I change it? God give me a sign!" You say as you are on your knees. You were so tired of being pushed around, it wasn't bad enough that you were very short, chubby, pretty and no longer a young woman, but just people took advantage of you. "Show me a sign? Bit cliché, no?"

A man said leaning against your wall. He had a Mediterranean look to him, was quite handsome, and had a pretty locket around his neck. You jump what feels like 50 feet in the air, "My purse is on the counter, just don't hurt me!" The man just laughs at you. "I'll just get right to the point; one, I didn't break into your house to hurt or rob you, in fact I didn't technically break in at all. Two I am a cross-dimensional being who has been given the ability to bend reality to my will and I am interested in your characteristics. Three, you won't believe me so look at this." He put his hand out, and in a second an apple appeared, he took a bite of it, and it transformed! It turned from an apple to a lizard in under five seconds! It walked around his hand for a bit until he took a bite of it, for it only to turn into a pear. You are speechless for a moment. To be fair though you, this wasn't out of the world for you, you have long had power fantasies about being a witch and you read and watched media about magic often. "Oh my god magic! Can you teach me some!" The man laughed again, "That is why I choose you, Lovie! Such an interesting reaction for a single dimensional being! But to simplify it, yes Lovie I am giving you the ability to use magic! Powerful magic!" You are still skeptical but if there is even a small chance this is true, you should be excited! "Okay what do I have to do?" The man continues to smile as he spins his locket around his neck. "Oh its real simple just prove to me you'd deserve them!" As soon as he finished saying that the room started shaking.

You were suddenly completely surrounded by white and nothingness. Two chairs appeared and the man pointed to the other chair for you to sit in. "Okay let's get started. Now the only rule I need is that you have to be honest!" The man crossed his legs and bunch of flash cards appeared in his hands. "Number 1, would you use your powers for the benefit of mankind, or would the purposes be selfish?" You stir in your seat, "Well I would certainly help those who..." The man put his finger up and interrupted you, "Honesty or we'll stop." You relax in your chair and sigh "I would definitely use them for selfish reasons; ****, fun and be a bitch." Unexpectedly he smiles, "Good, good! You have to realize my intentions are neither good or evil but just to find someone interesting to give the powers to. Now number 2 without any consequences would you be willing to ****, **** and destroy for your own personal pleasure?" You just nod in agreement getting excited in guessing what these questions are leading to. "Question 3 if you had to describe your wants in one word what would that be?" You ponder this for a moment before responding, "Insatiable!" He just smiles, stands up and before you know it you are both back in your shitty place on Stanton Island, "That is what I call a hundred percent correct answer!" He puts an arm around your body, "Now it is way more fun to let you figure out the powers without me telling you anything, so all I can say is have fun and most importantly be yourself!" And like that he was gone.

You feel his hand disappear and look as there is a note on your shoulder.
