I actually aced the son of a bitch!

The gap of time between my question and his answer feels like an eternity. He smiles (showing teeth) and says “Congratulations, you totally aced this test with a solid A!”

I smile for him but inside I think to myself “I better have aced it, that’s four hours of my life and more than I want to know about refractory periods and excretions than I wanted to.”

I stand up and gather my things. Perkins puts the test grade into the computer and hands me the test. He smiles and says, “Now go enjoy the rest of your day Miss Gailliard!”

I mumble thanks and walk out of the classroom. Enjoy the rest of my day? What’s left? Because of you the first eight hours of my day were wrenched from me via blatant highway robbery.

I walk down the hall to the front of the school and turn the corner. The hallway is empty except for Horace who apparently is afraid to wait outside for his ride. I have never heard him speak, so hearing his voice for the first time is a shock.

“Hi Riley, how did you do?”

I figure I can shock him too. I pull my shirt up enough to expose my bra and yell “I aced it!” at the top of my lungs, pull my shirt back down and head out the front door. I look back in time to see him running into the boys restroom.
