Beth sighed. It was time to return to reality. "I'm getting married in October."
Denny's smile slipped, but he put it back instantly. "Oh. I guess I should have figured. You're a catch."
"Sorry. I should have-" Denny put his hands up.
"You've got nothing to be sorry for, ba-, ahem, 'Bailey'."Denny finished his drink, and made a gesture to Kelly for his check. "It was nice to see you."
Why do I feel guilty? Beth let him give her a hug, and watched him leave.
"Old friends?" Kelly asked with a chipper voice.
"Ex." Beth answered her absently.
"Ooh. Sparks fly? Rekindling something?" Kelly teased.
"No, Kelly."
"He's a cutie, Bailey. And a good tipper. If you aren't interested, do you mind if I?" Kelly was a low key slut, but a lovable one.
"Never change, Kelly." Beth shook her head. The club was starting to thin out, so she decided to call it. It was only 1:03, but Denny had helped put her over the top.
She got dressed and drove home.
