Chapter 11 by Fever Dreamer Fever Dreamer

What will Vicky make for lunch?

I'm not fussy

“Whatever you’ve agreed on,” Vicky said with a smile. “I’m not fussy.”

“At least someone isn’t,” an uncle muttered, but was half-heartedly shushed into silence amid muffled laughter.

Vicky was given a list of ingredients to retrieve before setting them out onto the kitchen counter and dividing them into portions, slicing ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and the like until she had an arranged platter that people could pick and choose from. Brandon followed her into the dining hall with two baskets of bread rolls from storage, commenting that closer to the end of the week they’d probably have to rely on the non-perishables.

Leon was present again at his place in the dining hall and he nodded in a friendly fashion to Vicky as she placed the food on the table and began making herself a couple of sandwiches. The bread still tasted fresh despite the impossibility of being baked that morning, and Liz went so far as to ask for a third.

Cleaning up after the meal, Vicky checked the photo of the roster she had saved on her phone and realised she was free from obligations until after breakfast the next day.

How should Vicky spend her afternoon?
