Huntington Academy

Velvet woke up, stretched, and wondered what the day would bring. She 19 years old, athletic, fair skinned and blonde.

The instructors intentionally kept the trainees in dark for as long as possible. They wanted to prepare their students to deal with the unpredictable nature of the Hunt itself.

As the Hunt grew in popularity the viewership grew jaded with the unprofessional antics of amateurs. They much preferred the thrill that came from watching a highly trained Hunter pursue his equally skilled prey. Professional leagues had been formed. Ultimately, the Hunt had even become an Olympic Sport, with the very best fighting to protect their nation's dignity as well as their own.

Huntington Academy and similar institutions had been established to serve the growing need for skilled participants. Its instructors were former Hunters and Hunted, and they taught classes ranging from the Hunt itself, to PR, to how both parties should behave to maximize ratings in the case of a successful capture.

And, of course, there were live practice drills where Hunted would go live on campus. These Hunts would be broadcast throughout the academy. There was, understandably, a fair degree of antagonism between student Hunters and student Hunted.

Velvet dressed quickly and headed to breakfast, hoping that she could catch up with her friends while avoiding the teasing of those pervy Hunters.
