Hot chocolate

Jake turned to the first page. It was titled 'Hot chocolate', and the recipe was simple:

INGREDIENTS
1 tsp Chocolate powder
100mL Milk
100mL Water

Jake rummaged around in the cupboards until he found the right ingredients, then added them to a pot. He then put the pot onto the stove, and waited until it was simmering. When Jake finally poured out the liquid into a cup, it was smelt strongly of chocolate, and was steaming. He placed the cup onto the bench top to put away the book. However, the moment, he did so, the liquid in the cup began to bubble. It's colour changed from brown to black, and white steam began to emerge from its surface. Jake reached out to grab the cup, but snatched his hand away quickly. The cup emanated a cold that was colder than anything Jake had ever felt before. More and more steam poured from the liquid. It hung above the bench top, nearly becoming a solid shape. The mist swirled in the air, even though there was no breeze.

Suddenly, the steam turned as black as the liquid, and took on a solid shape. The object solidified into a dark silhouette that hovered in the middle of the room.

"I am here, master", the apparition intoned.
