Horses

“I wouldn’t mind seeing the horses,” Alexa said as she put her hands in her overall pockets.

Michelle nodded as she guided Alexa over to the stables. There were 6 horses; 1 black, 2 palomino, 2 brown, and 1 gray. “Which one do you want to wash?” Michelle asked as she opened the gate, leading the horses out.

“I’ll take the gray one,” Alexa said, as she grabbed the horse by its reins and walked it out.

Michelle nodded as she grabbed the black horse and led it out, following Alexa. “Come on boy, work with me,” Michelle said to the horse as they stopped by the wash area where there a couple hoses and buckets.

The horse seemed calm as Alexa grabbed one of the hoses and turned the nozzle on. “Here you go, girl,” Alexa said as she sprayed the horse.

Michelle gazed at Alexa for a moment before turning back to her black horse and beginning to wash him. Both the girls and the horses seemed at peace. Alexa began to hum, lost in her own thoughts. Michelle stole a few glances as she worked on her horse.
