Who you gonna call?
Home
"Are you sure Piper can handle this alone?" You asked Phoebe as you both both walked into the house, your girlfriend rolling her eyes good-naturedly at you.
"You know if I was the jealous type, I'd probably get upset at how worried you were over Piper, since you never show me that level of concern." Phoebe mentioned.
"One, I know you can handle yourself in these kinds of situations because two, you lived in New York, that at least qualifies as moderate training in survival." You replied.
"Aww thanks babe." Phoebe said, planting a light kiss on you as you both heard a soft clearing of the throat from nearby.
Breaking away from each other, you saw Prue standing there, phone in hand.
"Care to explain why Piper is handling my party alone?" Prue asked, exerting her big-sister powers on Phoebe who quickly jumped in, "She not!" before realizing the trap as you sighed with a smile.
"On the other hand, you also have a tendency to leap before you look, which is ironic given your powers." You muttered under your breath.
"I thought I told you guys I didn't want a surprise party?" Prue groused as she walked passed you and Phoebe, heading for the only room in the house we couldn't follow her: the bathroom.
"Well, in my defense, I had nothing to to do with the planning and now that you know about it, it isn't a surprise party anymore." You pointed out as Prue got to the door.
"Surprisingly, that doesn't comfort me." She retorted before shutting the door on both you and Phoebe, who began loudly knocking on the door.
"Come on Prue, open up!" Phoebe began yelling as you heard the shower turn on.
It was around five minutes later when Piper got home with Mark the ghost in tow that Prue finally relented and cracked the door open, if only to accuse Piper, who was completely unaware of the minefield she'd walked into.
"I told you I didn't want a party." She said pointedly at Piper who quickly put on her best poker face, trying to maintain the rouse.
"That's right so there's no party." Piper assured her older sister.
"It's too late Piper, the restaurant called while we were out." Phoebe said.
"Hey, Mr. Ghost, how about we go downstairs to the kitchen and wait for them to finish up their sisterly bonding, and then we get all three sisters focused on trying to help you pass over." You said, only vaguely looking in Mark's direction.
"Umm, why is Leo talking to a wall?" Prue paused whatever 'discussion' was being held to question her two sisters.
"Oh, we found a ghost, and we've got to help him since no one else can see him." Piper defended her new friend.
"Yeah, that's normally how ghosts work Piper." Prue retorted and you couldn't help the chuckle that bubbled up.
"He has to be one of the innocents we have to protect, we just have to get his family to give him a proper burial before he's caught by Yama." Piper insisted.
"Right, so just call the police or something, surely they can handle this." Phoebe interjected.
"No, I already did that, but Mark says he was murdered, and they torched his body, which means the police will not only have to wait for an ID, but they probably wouldn't release the body until they catch the guys who did it. I'm heading over to Mark's mother's tomorrow to try and speed this process up." Piper informed us.
"Not to rain on your parade Piper, but can you even speak Chinese?" You asked, Piper turning to look at you for the first time since she got home.
"I'll just have Mark feed me the words, he's a ghost so his mother shouldn't be able to see him." Piper said.
"And what if Mark can't come with you, I know Chinese culture can be very superstitious, and if she can only speak Chinese, then chances are she follows those same beliefs, more than likely her home is warded against ghosts and the like." You countered.
"Well, do you have any better ideas?!" Piper asked annoyed as you sighed, glancing at Phoebe.
"I could come with you, I may not pass for a native speaker, but I could probably get the message across." You offered as all three sisters' eyebrows rose.
"I didn't know you could speak Chinese, Leo." Phoebe said, which seemed to be the general consensus between them.
"I worked as a handyman in New York City, I can speak a lot of different languages." You replied.
"Good with his hands and his tongue, I see why you keep him around." Piper added mischievously.
"Yeah yeah, not that'll the fun is over, WOULD YOU PLEASE LET ME FINISH MY SHOWER!" Prue yelled as she slammed the door shut.
