Hold her in place a moment

Katie struggled to pull her pants back up, shocked by the man's presence. Her urine splashed a bit as she floundered, trying to keep her balance.

He put a hand on her shoulder, holding Katie in her squatting position. "No, no, please finish," he said.

"Hey, stop it!" she protested. She pushed up against his hand, but he was stronger than he looked.

"I'm sure you'll feel better if you finish," he said. "I'm sorry for interrupting you. You were stumbling. I thought you might be sick. I came to see if you needed help."

"Just tired. And bursting." And feeling more than a little perved on, she thought. "All right? Let go. I'm okay."

He took his hand off. Katie swayed, catching herself with one hand on the ground. The long day's travel weighed on her.

"I'll wait by the car, then." he said. "Here, my handkerchief."

He offered her a folded square of soft cotton cloth, pale in the dim night.
