His mom isn't there...

The automatic docking system begins to take control of each of their ships and precisely guides the two transports together for a smooth docking. Seeing that the maneuver is proceeding smoothly Adam leaves the bridge and begins to head down to the airlock in preparation for his mother's arrival.

As the young man passes a mirror he briefly stops to make sure his hair and uniform were presentable for his guest.

Adam was wearing his blue jumpsuit which hugged his body like a second skin. The suit was very thin and comfortable, ideal for working around the spaceship, but also afforded some protection from both the heat and the cold. As he glanced over his reflection he was pleased that the tight suit showed off the results of his daily workouts.

The handsome 20 year old arrived at the airlock door just as the "Princess" was docked and the cabin pressures were equalizing.

He was really looking forward to his mother's visit. The isolation of these trips was really getting him down and he needed some company even if it was just for a few days.

Adam grinned as he remembered the first time he and his mom rendezvoused while on their missions so that she could fix his naviagation system. His father had then suggested that they try to do this on every trip they could in order to make sure that all their systems were working properly.

"Click....swooosh."

The airlock door begins to open and Adam looks inside his mother's transport ship.

No one was there.

"Mom!" Adam calls out surprised that she wasn't waiting at the door as she always had done in the past.

"Mom!" he called out again as he stepped inside the 'Princess' wondering where Linda could be. This was very strange he thought.

It was unusually quiet as the young man made his way down the empty corridor looking for his mom.

Where does he go first?

The bridge, the engine room or his mom's cabin?
