Hikers

Tom was an easy 50 meters ahead of his friends as he reached the top of the slope. Being the adventurous soul he had decided to take the steep and treacherous ravine over the safety of the hiking path. He paused for a drink, soaking in the beautiful scenery as the sun began its descent into dusk. In only a few hours he'd be back in his cramped apartment, suffocating in its walls.

"Tom! Come on, that's stupid! You coulda slipped and died!"

Margaret, Tom's darling twin sister, was his polar opposite. While he was olive skinned with black hair she had favored their mother with a slight tan and dirty blonde curls. She was a homebody who loathes the outdoors, only agreeing to the hike because Tom had twist her arm until she agreed. Somewhat behind her was Stacy and Michael. They'd all been the best of friends since school and these hikes were one of the few ways they even got together anymore. As everyone was approaching 30 they'd all become more involved in their work lives. Opting to ignore his sisters worrisome tone, Tom made a mental assessment of everyone. They seemed in good spirits, albeit a little spent from the journey thus far.
