Hierarchy of the Church

As the title says, this time I will be giving more information on the Church. Here is the breakdown from top to bottom:

High Level

Oracle: This is the head of the Church and the "Direct Link" to Xelta. The Oracle is responsible for the Church as a whole, and it is rare for the Oracle to leave Telnon.

High Priest: The High Priest acts as the second in command to the Oracle. The High Priest is one of several high-ranking positions in the Church, but it holds the most sway. The High Priest function is to represent the needs of the people in the Church and acts as the personal secretary and advisor to the Oracle by reviewing all documents first and giving his advice. All Speakers report directly to Beldan. The High Priest is responsible for the daily operation and needs of the Church, allocating Church resources for disaster aid and missionary work. The High Priest is also responsible for meeting with every initiate and assigning them to fulfill the needs of the people.

Grand Templar: Chosen from the most powerful of Master Templar, this position is the leader of all the Templar forces and like the High Priest, answers directly to the Oracle unless situations call for the High Priest to be in command for a time. Currently Beldan is also Acting Oracle because the Oracle is "Missing," so all Templar orders come from him as well.

Father Abbott/Mother Abbess of the High marches: The highlands in Northern Veertor are home to a rough and powerful group of settlers. Although the region is still technically under the Veer government, most of its people feel little devotion towards the Church or to the Emperor. The Abbott/Abbess of the High Marches is in charge of the largest Convent in Northern Veertor and their mission is to bring the Highlands to the Church. Although it has been a slow process, the current Mother Abbess has made great advancements in bringing about a spiritual awakening and feels very strongly for her "Children." Even though she reports to Beldan, she doesn't allow him to always have his way.

Keeper of the Tomes: Usually refered to as the "Keeper." It is this person's job to keep up with the Great Library of Telnon and Scribes working for the Church. This person can also sometimes be the church accountant.

Midlevel Clergy:

The Voice: Currently held by Winlay Grace, the Voice is the songstress of the Church and personal secretary to the High Priest. It is not uncommon since Beldan's taking the position for the Voice to get very little singing done, since their beautiful voices are usually hoarse from screaming and moaning for him.

Speakers: Speakers are the head priests of churches. They oversee the town they live and work in, making sure that the priests are spreading the word of Zelta.

Scribes: Scribes are a large part of the church. They are secretaries, librarians, teachers, and can act as minor priests.

Lowlevel Clergy:

Priests: Priests perform jobs similar to Speakers and Scribes, but they have fiewer duties. They are lesser priests that do lesser work.

Missionaries: Priests that spend their whole lives traveling from town to town. Being that they do not stay in one place, they usually report to the Keeper instead of the High Priest, and even then it is only once in a while.

Associates:

These include everyone from cleaning ladies to messengers. Associates are people who work for the church, but are not exactly part of it.
