Chihiro began to move on to the second button of her blouse, only to find herself met with resistance. Curious in the worst way possible, Chihiro tried to reach the second button again, only to feel something thin pulling against her slender fingers. Taking a closer look, Chihiro's heart sank as she saw a thin white thread wrapped around several of her fingers. The only thing on her with white thread was the blouse she was trying to fix, and this realization made Chihiro's sunken heart begin to race.
_Where did this thread come from? I- I mean, what part of my blouse is this connected to? Why did this have to happen now?! _Chihiro thought, panic starting to set in.
Carefully, Chihiro gave the thread a few experimental tugs, trying to discern where on her blouse the thread came from. If she could find the source, she could hopefully cut the thread at the source and keep that problem under control. At least... in theory. However, as her tugging confirmed, she couldn't figure out the general area of the thread's origin. Even worse, those weak tugs had still been enough to increase the length of the visible thread, meaning that she was further undoing whatever part of her blouse the thread was connected to!
_Keep calm, Chihiro. Just keep calm. _the timid girl told herself, though she was failing to take her own advice. Step one, get your fingers free. You can't fix this problem one-handed.
Carefully, Chihiro took her untangled hand and began to work on the thread entwined around her fingers. Said task was much easier said than done, however, as Chihiro found herself faced with her own embarrassing Gordian Knot. Every tangle she fixed only seemed to create another, and Chihiro couldn't seem to make any real progress. Then, to make things worse, just as Chihiro thought she had figured out the knot-
