Head on downstairs

You follow your mom's orders and climb down the stairs where you see her waiting for you at the bottom.

The area is furinished with a big television, a table, and a few bookshelves filled with books on pokemon. Off to the right, you would find an area marked off for use as a kitchen complete with a tiled floor as opposed to the rest of the carpeted area.

"Ah, Red, there you are. The pokemon Professor stopped by earlier today to tell me that you're ready to start your pokemon adventure today! I know it'll be tough to have you leave, but...every child must go through with this eventually." She gives you a smile obviously holding back her own discomfort. "Go on! He should be in his lab waiting for you. Have fun now!"

With that remark, you head on out the front door to arrive outside in the quaint area of Pallet Town.
