Chapter 11
by NoobLube
The time to relax is nigh, and the time to let some steam loose?
Head on back to your room.
Your little brother takes you on a journey - swooping down to pick his helmet up and slipping it on first, then he takes off like a SoroSuub Speeder, whipping and weaving down a familiar path that has you turning your head at the nauseous smell of the odd fumes coming from some of the old machinery. Khi lets go of your of your hand as you both reach a cosy and scrapped room in what was once a forgotten apartment building - now housed a sizeable number of warriors who slept right under the Empire's noses. A much more stable living space than an un-insulated scrapheap, that was for sure.
Khi barges into the door and swipes the curtains shut before bouncing in, he stumbles over a book in the middle of crossing the room, gently nudging it into the corner before continuing his little journey to the makeshift mini-fridge, another blessing you'd have to thank the Rigger for. "They're serving food later, but I think there's still some sandwiches, Rodian squeezed in the fridge... there it is!" He chuckles to himself victoriously, lifting it above his head and clapping the fridge door shut and walking over to the bed.
He slumped back into it, a new bed you note, still in its sealed packaging and without a proper sheet to cover it jiggled and shook under the sudden weight of not Khi, but the armour he wore. His unsecured helmet bobbing and bouncing off without even the slightest hint of resistance. And so his messy hair shakes loosely against his face when he looks back up at you, he beckons you to join him in what felt like a crawl space between the two of you.
You walk in behind the energetic boy, his book forgotten and likely left behind in the immediate pursuit of a comfortable and private space. Of course given the messy state he's left his little corner of the room, it's difficult to tell - piles upon piles of books of varying genres from romance to mystery, though they're mostly of the comedy category. Most of the names are in Aurebesh, and yet none of them look familiar to you aside from a few books that he'd borrowed from you. The more historical texts that you managed to preserve from the war on Mandalore, and more importantly the records of your family dating back to when the Mandalorians first conquered the planet you once called home.
What are we going to do on the bed, bro?
