Head for Class

As much fun as it was hanging out with friends, the ring of the bell signalled the need to head for class. Saying his goodbyes, Derek parted from Emily and the others and headed for his 1st hour class: Spanish. He hated the teacher but he at least had plenty of friends in it. Heading inside and flopping into his seat, he was greeted with a bonk on the head. Leaning back and setting his had on the desk behind him, he smiled at his friend Cassie, who grinned and crossed her arms over her chest.

"Where's the gum you promised me today?"

"Ah yeah, I forgot it."

"You really suck, dude."

"I know, I know. I'll get you some tomorrow. Hey, where's Becca?" He glanced over, noticing another of his friend's seats were empty.

"Out sick...well, not really." She leaned in close to whisper it to Derek, "She had a ginocologist appointment today, bleck." Flopping back in her seat, the girl lazilly watched as the teacher began to drone on. "Oh great, she's already started into a speech." Fortunately, Derek knew a way out of that problem. With a simple thought the teacher, Mrs. Wilkins, was headed off for an hour-long coffee break while the rest of the class went about their business.
