Chapter 7
by LancetheGallade1500
What does Robin decide to do?
Head back to his room
It's probably best that I go back to my room before I go anywhere first.
Robin made his way back to his room and sat at his desk, writing down what he had figured out about the remote's top-right button and placing it in a locked drawer.
"Right... now, I guess I should think about what to do next with this remote."
Robin lied down on his bed, hands behind his head, and stared up at the ceiling, collecting his thoughts into the possibilities.
Well, I suppose that first, I should decide whether or not to keep experimenting with this button or to try another.
If I try with another button, I'm probably going to need to find another person. Zelda was suspicious of me though, so I can't be obviously shocked at whatever happens. I was lucky that she was already heading somewhere, or else my cover probably would've been blown.
If I keep going with the body switching button, there are a few things I want to figure out. Do I have to be part of the swap, or can I swap two other people? If I swap with someone like Kirby or Yoshi, will I be given the muscle memory to operate a completely different body from that of a human? I mean, Robin glanced down at his chest, women have a lower center of gravity than men, and even though I was sitting down when the swap happened, it didn't feel strange at all to walk back here. So I'd assume at least some muscle memory carries over—probably not all of it, but enough to move around comfortably enough. But will that work for cross-species swaps?
"Actually," Robin's eyes widened. "What happens if I try swapping with a Spirit? Will I get their body, or will I turn into a Spirit myself?"
Robin sat up, hand under his chin. "Hmm... it could be dangerous if I don't tell anyone about the remote. I could get stuck as intangible and not be able to use the remote... although, in that event, I could probably just take over another fighter temporarily and swap us back..."
Though not something that everyone did outside of battles, it certainly wasn't unusual to see a Smasher walking around with a spirit possessing them. Granted, the most common occurrence of this was to have a Spirit possess a Smasher they personally knew for a mental conversation—something that didn't require giving up control over one's body. However, a few Smashers came to a mutual agreement with some Spirits to give them temporary control over their body in exchange for something.
Robin smiled briefly, remembering a moment where Zelda gave up her body for a whole day to let Lucas be with his mother.
Hmm... there are a few choices ahead of me.
What to study first?
