Return to Maester

You crossed the courtyard to the tower holding the bowl with your hands steady while the warmth warmed your palms.

Noetys opened the door for you when you got there. Avamys smiles when he sees you with his meal and sits at the table, while you place the bowl in front of him, on the table. He thanks you, and starts to feed.

“Noetys, your service for today is over. Go help the other men with their tasks and then go to rest, Koby will take over for today. See you tomorrow".

The surly boy didn't even complain, just smiled and went through the door, saying goodbye with a wave of his hand.

"Sit down, son," Avamys said to you, and you pulled up a chair and sat down. "Thank you very much for doing your job."

“Ah, it was nothing, sir. As you said yourself, I was just doing my job ”.

If he knew what I did to get this...

"Sure," he took a spoonful. "Could you serve me water?"

"Ah, y-yes!"

Distracted, you promptly went to a shelf, grabbed a wooden cup and poured water on it, then handed it to Maester. He thanked you and continued the meal. Then he gave you some more orders: get more wood, fan the flames, take the dishes back to the kitchen, change the sheets on the beds and take some books back to the library. Then you accompanied him to the library for a few hours while he immersed himself in old volumes of medicine.
