Chapter 4 by Thehypno7ist Thehypno7ist

What else can this device do?

He turns his mother into BATMAN

Was he only limited to objects? Curiosity piqued, Liam began to browse through the phone's gallery of random pictures. Among the various images, he stumbled upon a photo of Batman — the iconic superhero with a strong, stoic personality that Liam had always admired.

A mischievous grin spread across Liam's face as an idea formed in his mind. "Could I make Mom embody people's personalities too?" he wondered aloud, his thoughts racing with the possibilities. He stared at the picture of Batman, imagining what it would be like if Veronica suddenly took on the persona of the Dark Knight.

He hesitated for a moment, considering the implications of such a transformation. The phone had already proven its ability to alter perceptions in bizarre ways. Could it truly extend to personality traits as well?

Liam glanced back at Veronica, who continued to dutifully spin her arms as the imaginary fan. The room was now filled with a peculiar mix of sounds — the whirring "whooosh" of Veronica's arms and the crunching of chips as Liam pondered his next move.

Liam held his breath as he tapped on the picture of Batman, selecting it on the phone's screen. Veronica, who had been spinning her arms as the imaginary fan, suddenly stopped and looked at Liam with a blank expression. Without a word, she turned and walked out of the room, leaving Liam bewildered.

Twenty minutes passed, during which Liam anxiously waited, unsure of what Veronica was up to. Finally, the door to her room creaked open, and Liam's jaw dropped as Veronica emerged, now fully dressed in a ridiculous makeshift "Batman" outfit.

She had fashioned a cape out of a dark bedsheet, a mask from a pair of black socks that she had cut in holes for her eyes and mouth, and a utility belt using Liam's old toy belt and a few random household items. She also wore a tight one piece swimsuit underneath, perhaps the only black item she had in her closet, she hated the colour after all. Despite the comical nature of the outfit, Veronica wore it with surprising seriousness, her posture straight and her expression masked behind the makeshift mask.

"Ver-?" Liam started, unsure of how to react to his mother standing before him in such an absurd ensemble.

"I am the night," Veronica declared in a deep, gravelly voice, attempting to mimic Batman's iconic growl. She struck a pose, fists on hips, cape billowing dramatically.

Liam burst into laughter, unable to contain his amusement at the sight. "Mom, what are you doing?" he managed to say between laughs.

Veronica remained stoic, committed to her role as Batman. "I am vengeance," she continued, adopting a serious tone that clashed with the silliness of her makeshift costume.

Liam shook his head in disbelief. "This is incredible," he exclaimed, still laughing. He couldn't believe how seriously Veronica was taking the role, fully embodying Batman's personality as if she were a method actor preparing for a performance.

"I am Batman," Veronica proclaimed once more, her voice resolute.

Liam couldn't help but admire his mother's dedication and the unexpected turn of events. It was both hilarious and surreal to see Veronica, who moments ago was a table fan, now transformed into the Dark Knight himself.

Veronica, fully immersed in her makeshift Batman persona, stared at Liam with steely determination behind her mask. In her mind, she was the Dark Knight, ready to take on any challenge that came her way. But something was wrong!

“Wait wait, that costume is not right!” Liam yelled as he grabbed a pair of scissors from the corner table and moved closer to a stunned Veronica. He dragged her swimsuit and pulled it away from her body, pinching the fabric in a couple of calculated positions and cutting away. “There- that’s more on brand.” he said as he moved back and took in the sight before him.

Veronica now had both of her nipples thrust out of the holes Liam had made in her outfit. She didn’t react to such indecency in front of her son at all.

"Prepare yourself, villain!" Veronica declared in her best gravelly Batman voice, pointing dramatically at Liam.

Liam couldn't help but play along with the absurdity of the situation. "Oh no, Batman! You'll never defeat me!" he replied, trying to match Veronica's serious tone with exaggerated theatrics.

Veronica lunged forward with an unexpected agility, attempting a punch at Liam's shoulder. Liam, caught off guard by her sudden attack, stumbled back but managed to deflect her playful blows.

"You've got some moves, Batman," Liam chuckled, dodging another punch.

Veronica continued to "fight" Liam with earnest intensity, fully believing she was engaged in a heroic battle against a formidable foe. She countered Liam's mock attacks with calculated precision, her movements surprisingly agile despite the ridiculousness of her costume.

Liam, amused and impressed by Veronica's commitment, decided to play along, pretending to be overpowered by her superhero prowess, being caught up in his toy rope for a while before breaking free. He exaggerated his reactions to her punches and kicks, adding to the theatricality of their mock battle.

After a brief exchange of ‘blows’, Liam eventually managed to catch Veronica's wrists gently, restraining her with a playful grin. "Ohhh! Look like I got you, Batman," he said.

Veronica paused for a moment, breathing heavily behind her mask. "I am the night," she declared once more, her voice slightly muffled by the sock mask.

"You sure are" Liam replied, unable to suppress his laughter at the sight of his mother fully embracing the role of Batman.

Veronica finally dropped her fighting stance and straightened up, still wearing the makeshift costume with pride. Despite losing their playful battle, she remained in character, convinced of her identity as the Caped Crusader.

Can he make her believe she's an animal?
