He pushes for more

"Come on," Matt said. "You can't leave me hanging like this."

"The hell I can't."

"Can't you see I want to help you."

"Yeah, you and what army?"

Whatever that meant. "Seriously, I'm worried about you. You're the captain of the football team, the best looking guy in the school, and you drive a Porsche 911. I mean, for most of us, high school is miserable because we look at guys like you who seem to have it all. So, if you're not happy there's something seriously wrong with the universe and we need to get it back right."

"Look, Matt. You're starting to bug me."

"Not my intention, brother."

"Well then, back off." The flash in Jordan's eyes told Matt he wasn't on firm footing here. This was the Jordan that Tanya had repeatedly warned him against.

"No worries, brother. I'm just heading to class."

"You know, I can tell you've been working out. If you start coming to practice, you might be able to be a bench-warmer for the football team this fall."

"The streaming business is kicking my ass right now. But I appreciate the invitation. See you around, Jordan."

"Yeah, whatever, Matt."

Matt headed toward biology. There was something going on with Jordan but he couldn't quite get his finger on it.
