Chapter 109
by
Shandy
Does he call Cadey? Letitia? Lisa? Someone else? Or does he do something else.
He decides on some private recreation. And gets an invitation.
Frank mused for a few moments then decided to take a break from the neighbourhood and take care of an errand he'd been putting off.
He had planned his escape to this quiet suburb over several years, well before there was a threat to his life. He had purchased several properties, including the house, through holding companies which could not easily be traced back to him.
He had also purchased a boat. A five year old cabin cruiser, docked at a private moorage less than an hours drive away. He had bought it because he'd always wanted a boat, had bought one back home when he was still in the life, and had loved taking it out for fishing, and sometimes he thought with a cruel smile, some disposal jobs. But that boat had been abandoned with everything except the cash and other stuff he had moved in advance of his disappearance.
Down here, with the water so close and so warm, he couldn't resist buying another. He'd only seen it twice. Once on the day he bought it, and for the second time when he ran it down to it's moorage. He itched to take it out and feel the fresh air, and put a line in the water and see what was running.
With that thought he changed and pulled his SUV out of the garage to make it easier to load the gear he planned to take with him. He was whistling softly as he packed the vehicle, looking forward to a day on the water, when a black Porsche swung into his driveway.
He turned in surprise to see a slender young woman uncoil from the driver's seat and strut towards him. She was dressed like she was going clubbing, rather than for a morning drive, and he admired the look of her lithe body as she approached.

"Are you Frank Castillo?" she asked with an irritated tone.
"I am. Who do I have the pleasure..."
"I've got an invitation for you," she interrupted. "From my mother. To her summer party." She handed him an envelope not bothering to hide her annoyance. She was very pretty, Frank noted as he took the envelope and flipped it open, although the sullen expression on her face didn't help.
"That's very kind. Please tell your mother..."
"Tell her yourself. The address and phone number's on the card." She turned to go, tossing her head to flick her long black hair over a shoulder.
"Thanks for delivering it Miss Scott," he smiled assuming she was the unnamed daughter of the Natalie and David Scott on the invitation. "Could I offer you some lemonade? Iced tea?"
She gave him a scornful look which was clearly meant to put him in his place and strode back to her car, her slim hips swaying slightly. Frank heard a muttered 'As if...' as she departed.
Frank smiled and watched her back the Porsche out of his driveway, then accelerate with a chirp of tires down the street.
This must be the summer party that Lisa had mentioned. He noted the date was almost two weeks away and he smiled again as he thought of the opportunities it might provide. Not least, if possible to take that snotty young daughter down a peg or two.
"Too bad you didn't want any lemonade," he chuckled to himself as he continued to pack. "That would have taken the sullen look off your face."
Does he leave?
