Chapter 14

What was different?
He could read her emotions
Rick stared at the woman. Always before, she'd seemed so cool, so professional. She'd been sexy in the way he imagined a movie star would be... perfect body but the kind of attitude that just sits there getting fucked and not caring anything about it. Yeah, that was probably sexist of him, maybe racist too. But it had been his reaction. Now, it was like his eyes had changed. He could see more.
Recollection of his decision the previous evening crashed back into his memory. It wasn't like his eyes could see more, they could. His bio-DNA was on the job.
He didn't need to squint his eyes but he'd been nearsided as a kid and had learned the trick of seeing better by squinting before one of his teachers had noticed and sent home a note suggesting he get his eyes examined. Then, squinting had tightened his focus. Same here but in a different way. When he looked carefully, he could see the individual beads of sweat incipient on each pore of her face. The way she breathed, her breasts heaving underneath some constrictive bra she wore to dampen down the size of those oversized tits spoke its messages to him. She was sexually stimulated. Not sexually stimulated by him, exactly, but by the joy of being able to threaten him, by the thoughts of big strong policemen coming and violently hauling him away. His sense of smell picked up just a hint of female excitement. Hell, the bio-DNA was supposed to be making him stronger, not playing havoc with his senses.
"Of course, Babs," he said. "I should have realized that the eviction notice would encompass the entire facility rather than just my apartment."
He read the disappointment in her eyes as she drew back from his car. She'd been hoping for a confrontation.
A part of him wanted to deliver, to get out of the car, throw her on the ground, and give her some insight into what real **** was. Another, more cautious part, told him to back off. If he got arrested, the cops would take the remaining bio-DNA pills and he'd never see them again. Either the company would reclaim them or some cop would get the benefits.
Does he get out and attack?

Rick has to make some choices and some changes to his life. He can pursue , try to make his own millions, or even search for personal fulfilment. One thing is certain, if he doesn't do something, he'll quickly end up homeless and on the street.
