Haru, from Beastars

Beastars was consider by many as a fine example of furries in anime. It was an anime about anthropomorphic characters in a world completely inhabited by anthropomorphic characters. All in the world they live, there is not a single human to be see, even though it was possible to see some primates here and there.

This was an anime that some said that turned people into furries, or even changed their sexual orientation (when it came to the male characters), and it left many people questioning themselves. Josh was already a furry before he first heard about the anime that originally was a manga, and he, like many others, found a good number of interesting characters in the said anime.

Among them was Haru.

Yes, Haru was definitely one of the most important characters in the entire story. Not only for her being one of the most recurring ones (at least during the course of the two first seasons), but she was also the object of desire of the main character, and the catalyst to nearly all of his actions and decision through the story.

Haru was a dwarf rabbit. She was short and had a child’s face (according to some), and she was known for being fairly promiscuous, although some defended her by saying that she was simply the most honest character of the series, unafraid of going for what she wanted and don’t really giving a shit about people’s opinions. An example of a strong woman.

And there she was now, just standing in the middle of the selection menu with a big smile on her cute little bunny face, her big black eyes looking like they were staring back at Josh, nearly inviting him to choose her and have a good time.

“Well, I’ll go for Haru.” Josh said, and immediately, the picture of the smiling rabbit was select. Then, the entire selection menu slid up, like the curtain raising from a stage, and Fursona was waiting behind it. She immediately started to change. She shrunk in size, until she was less than three-and-a-half feet tall. Her tail shrunk till it was merely a pompom, and her face also flattened, to make her now look like a rabbit, as her ears became really long. As she stood before him, her clothes materialized, first the white bra and panties, followed by a familiar white dress with black shoes that was Cherrington’s female uniform. Then coloration was added, as all of the blue on her body turned pure white. Then, she opened her eyes, revealing them to be completely black in color, and she looked up at the human before her.

“So, I am your choice, won’t I?” She asked, looking at the human, “Well, guess I should feel honored.”

Josh continued to look at her.

“What? Got an actual crush on me?” She asked, and Josh recovered.

“Oh! Sorry. Is just that... you’re so small...”

She chuckled.

“Yeah, I know.” She said, looking at him, “Don’t worry about that, it is canon that I can be with males much bigger than myself. Oh, and don’t worry about my age as well, it is canon that, on my first appearance on the story, I am already eighteen, so I am of legal age.”

She stood before Josh, her hands on her hips.

“So, with this out of the way, what do you want to do? Would you like a programmed scenario, or you prefer a free experience?”
