Hank wakes in the night

Hank woke in the middle of the night with a dry mouth and a full bladder.

In the warm summer night, he and Veevee had drifted off to sleep without covers. In the dim light of the bedside clock, he could see his nude wife half-curled on her side facing away from him. The cleft of her buttocks curved like a broad, satisfied smile. He smiled back and wiggled his thumb at her, the thumb he had used to diddle her butthole at the climax of their "sleeping pill" fuck.

Something in the scene reminded him of the time he and Veevee had lived with Hank's mom and dad for a short time after they were married. Church especially seemed to give Hank's mother a sexual charge. Every Sunday at dawn, without fail, Hank and Veevee would wake to squeaking bedsprings. Mama would dress in her best, and after church, Mama and Daddy would always head home hand in hand and straight to the bedroom. Once she had even told Hank and Veevee, "You kids run along, Mama needs a bang."

They were retired now and did a lot of travel in their motorhome. In the same abstract and general way that his parents knew that Hank and Veevee were practicing bisexuals with an open marriage, Hank knew that his parents planned their travel around rural and small-town resorts friendly to nudity, sex, and partner swapping.

Hank rolled out of bed and headed for the master bathroom. He urinated, washed his hands well, using the fingernail brush with plenty of soap, and went back to bed. He sat on the bed for a minute, feeling restless, then went downstairs for a glass of milk.
