Chapter 151 by bobbobbobthethir
What's next?
Hall Meeting
It’s Friday night, which means it’s time for another hall meeting. The residents of East Hall have gathered around the lounge, and you slide in the back, all filled up after a hearty dinner. Dominic strides up to the front of the room, followed closely behind by Tatiana, and he clears his throat, getting everyone’s attention.
“Hello everybody, welcome to this week’s hall meeting!” Dominic announces, giving the gathered residents a cheery wave. “Another week gone by already, can you believe it? Just a month left until Burn Week!”
There comes the expected murmurings as people count the weeks off. You, of course, know by heart that Dominic’s correct. Burn Night’s going to be the best night of your life. You know when it’s coming by heart.
“You got the freshies all riled up for nothing,” Tatiana grumbles. “How am I supposed to make my announcement now?” She sighs and snaps her fingers, the cracking sound loud as thunder. “Yes, very good, you’ll all pay attention to me now. There is a big basketball game on Sunday. We’re playing Schmarvard, it’s going to be big. Show up and support the Greys.”
Somehow, when Tatiana says it, it sounds more like a threat than a school pride thing.
“They’re converting the big parking lot into a Drive-in Theater on Wednesday night, so watch out for that,” Dominic says. “There’ll be the usual wellness event at the student center on Thursday, and… is there anything else?”
“Well, there’s the super exclusive ChiO party at the bar tonight,” Tatiana shrugs. “But that’s not relevant to you guys, so don’t lose any sleep over it. You’re only missing an open bar and some of the hottest guys and girls on campus.”
“How do I get in?” Arthur calls out from next to you.
Tatiana shoots him a deathly glare.
“You need an invite from one of the sisters,” she says. “Which means that you’re not getting in.”
“Hey, hey, be nice,” Dominic laughs. “Alright. That’s all we’ve got for announcements. So, on to everyone’s favorite part of the night... complaints or compliments?”
{if Jeanne > 59} “Compliments to Alex for making the front page of the newspaper!” Christina shouts out, and you receive a round of applause around the room, followed by a few whoops. {endif}
{if GriffRach < 50} “Complaint!” Rachel says, raising her arm. “Griffin’s a fucking asshole for cheating on me!” {endif}
{if GriffRach < 50} “No I didn’t!” Griffin shouts from the other end of the room. “You’re the one that cheated!” {endif}
{if GriffRach < 50} “Let’s not get in each other’s faces over this,” Tatiana says, staring down the two of them. “Move on. Be adults. People fuck people, no need to make this drama for everyone else.” {endif}
There’s a moment of silence that follows.
“Compliments to Charmaine,” some guy calls out. “She got a fine ass!”
“That’s not funny anymore,” Dominic says, rolling his eyes. “Anyone else?”
“Compliments to Lisa!” somebody else pipes up. “She was the star of the football game last week, the very best cheerleader we’ve got!”
“That’s my sister!” you call out, amidst the plaudits of the crowd.
The meeting goes on for a couple minutes more, and then wraps up soon afterwards. You, facing an open Friday night, decide that you’re going to try to get into the ChiO party. But can you?
