Chapter 6 by TheRandomSN

What's my best option here?

Gun for the alley

Strictly for the sake of less chance of everyone seeing her like this, she headed forwards through the woods, towards the alley. She could just make out the sight of her house, three doors down on the right. The relief was enough that she barely noticed the light pain of stepping barefoot on rocks and sticks.

Christina reached the edge of the forest and hunkered behind a tree. After the woods she had the sidewalk, then the street, then another sidewalk before reaching the alley. She saw several trash cans lining the alleyway, left side and right, waiting for the next day the sanitation department would come pick up everyone’s refuse. She could hide behind those if she needed to, one she made it across the street.

She was close enough to the road that she could peer through trees and saw no one walking the sidewalk nearby. Her vision was limited, but she felt she should be far enough away that virtually no one would recognize her if she judged wrong. The cars were another matter, she had to go mostly by sound, and several had passed since she made this last pause at the tree.

I just need one good gap… Come on…

A set of three cars passed, and she heard their engines receding. Listening carefully she didn’t hear any other vehicles getting louder.

Rounding the tree and pushing through the last foliage, she was at a full run by the time her foot hit the sidewalk. She started sprinting into the road, looking right <no one there thank god thank god> and then left.

A car was cruising down the road towards her. Christina’s hands slapped across the front of her body again and she continued sprinting across the street while the driver honked. She rushed past the sidewalk and into the open mouth of the alley, making her way directly to the nearest trashcan where she ducked behind it, squatting onto the ground. She heard the car approach, then it began to slow down.

Oh no, please just go away, I don’t want to be seen like this…

“Looking good baby!” a male voice shouted. Then the car started moving again, engine slowly revving upwards.

Christina wiped tears from her eyes, forcing herself to not start sobbing now. She had to finish this and get home. If getting dressed wasn’t enough relief for her, she could cry her heart out then.

Standing back up and glancing around, there was no one within view. The fence would shield her body from anyone in their homes or back yard. Her ass would be visible to anyone driving or walking by the road, but if they didn’t look over then they might not notice her.

She started jogging towards the fence behind her house, listening carefully for any cars. When she heard one she popped behind another trash can, ducking down. But she only had one interruption as she made the short course to her fence.

She tried the wooden gate, praying her dad had left it unlocked the last time he took the trash out, but she didn’t expect any luck and wasn’t given any in return. Hopping the fence it was.

Taking two steps back and a deep breath, she made a short run at the fence before jumping. Her hands gripped the top of the wooden boards and pulled hard, and she swung her foot up, barely getting her leg on top of the planks. Pulling with both arms and a leg now, she was just barely able to haul herself over the fence before she dropped, falling off and landing on her side. But thankfully in her own yard.

Standing up she brushed dirt and grass off her hips and legs, scanning the windows of the house. Dad might have made it home from work, and mom’s part time job ended at noon so she would likely be home. Even though they were her parents, she didn’t want to get caught naked like this and have to explain.

She didn’t see anyone in the windows and jogged the path up to the back door. If it was locked she’d have to get the spare key from the side of the house, but sometimes they left it unlocked during the daytime.

Gripping the knob, Christina slowly opened the door a crack, first looking through the gap and then putting her ear up to it. She heard no sounds except the living room TV. She pushed the door open and slipped inside.

“Christina? Is that you?”

Quickly closing the door behind her, she stepped inside. Her mom’s voice had come from the living room, but she wasn’t walking into the kitchen where Christina stood.

“Yeah Mom, it’s me.”

“Come here, letter came in the mail for you.”

“In a minute mom, I need to get something from my room first!”

Christina was thankful yet again that her bedroom was in the basement. She wouldn’t have to cross the living room to reach it, and could avoid explaining her lack of clothing. She turned towards the basement stairwell and headed straight towards her room. Pulling open the closet door, she grabbed the first shirt and pants that she saw, sighing in relief.

What's next?
