Grimoire, Philosopher’s Stone, & Mystery Box

"First I choose the Grimoire." I tell her.

"Assuming you still know how to read when this is all over, I'll give you a copy of my grimoire! Handwritten by yours truly, it'll teach you all sorts of magic like, uh... Sparkles! Candlelight! Water into wine! Uhh... Teleportation? That's a hard one, I don't know if you'll be able to get that." Hawk looked confident and proud at first before slowly gaining a doubtful look on her face. "Okay, it's really just basic utility magic, but any magic is helpful, right? Your breasts are also now mana tanks, and big breasts mean more magic. Also, no, they don't get smaller when you're out of mana. That's stupid." Hawk quickly answered me without me asking.

"Alright, next I choose the Philosopher's Stone." I tell Hawk.

“Made only using the souls of serial killers, guaranteed. While the perk of ‘Immortality’ might make you live forever it doesn’t make you invincible. This, however, does. Any ****, any trauma, and any time you’ve completely torn apart your body will just put you back together. It makes you effectively invincible. It doesn’t make you immortal, though; you’ll still age normally. So you need both for the ‘You’ll Stay Here Forever Effect’, which you do.” She begins her explanation. “It's not so bad, really. I'm a few hundred thousand years old now, and it really hasn't gotten boring yet. But at any time, you can just turn it off and kill yourself. So it's up to you how long you live."

'That's like a strange feature.' I thought to myself.

"It does have a safety setting though. When you activate the 'turn off' feature, you have to wait a whole month, and then it'll ask 'are you sure?'. It's just to make sure you don't get drunk and sad and try to kill yourself." She spoke as if it was from experience then. "Always remember, that nothing lasts forever. Not the good times, and not the bad times either."

After a pregnant pause, I announce my next choice. "I finally choose the Mystery Box."

Hawk's face instantly turned from the melancholy of before into a childish glee. "So mysterious! What could be inside?!?!?! You would like to take a gamble, Candi? I'm pretty sure you'll find the contents... interesting..." Once she was done she must have realized I have only chosen three. "Ahh, crud. So you don't want any more drawbacks huh?"

She then turned a page and her eyes lit up again. "Oh boy, it's time for the drawbacks! You didn't think I was giving you all of this for free did you, little Candi? No, you've got to pay something; I'm just going to let you pick what. Take three drawbacks. Since the drawbacks associated with your face and accent don't count, for this section you'll have five drawbacks in total before you can start taking extras for more powers, items, or companions. The drawbacks that are labeled with their associated face or accent aren't restricted to just that face or accent, that's merely to help you see which goes with which. You can still take them for credit if you picked a different face or accent." She explains to me. "You must take a total of 8 drawbacks, including the drawbacks associated with your choices from before, so you better choose wisely..."

At that, I looked at all my options and considered them carefully.
