Goodbye's Handler Report (Ending #5)

Objective Status: Ciao was deployed as handler for the Goodbye Girls to London, on the trail of Vaarvel and Au Revoir. The two stole a CEDIT Gambit; with their intentions unknown, we assumed them to be our enemies and viewed Ciao's intervention as our only means of stopping their rogue behavior. Details are still sketchy, but the facts are as such: Vaarvel was found dead at the scene of Madison's office, Ciao was found incapacitated by his own sleep powder, and Au Revoir was missing. Vaarvel had released several incriminating articles of evidence, targeted towards Ciao and Au Revoir, which are still under review by the international committee.

Given the circumstances and Ciao's own testimony, my own conclusion is that all of that evidence against Ciao was fabricated. Vaarvel clearly intended to escape the confrontation, framing both Ciao and Au Revoir as criminals that she managed to kill in action, while carrying out the abduction of Madison Pettigrew as her main objective. Unfortunately, with Vaarvel dead, we'll never truly understand her motivations, but it could be as simple as her association with Adder. According to Ciao, Vaarvel was the true Adder Adjutant. With her death, the terrorist organization may now truly be without its leadership.

Without Ciao's quick thinking, Vaarvel would still be at large. However, there is one point of contention that is sure to spend a lot of time in front of the international committee: what is to be done with Au Revoir? The evidence that Vaarvel submitted, in her case, was spot on: it's clear she was an accomplice in all sorts of treachery on the part of Adder throughout her time in the Goodbye Girls. Even now, she may be subject to control by specific Adder agents as of yet unknown. Furthermore, she killed an extremely high value target in a situation where subdual was the obvious answer, depriving us of intel regarding the greatest terrorist threat remaining in the world today.

Au Revoir will be a target for CEDIT pursuit in the days to come, I'm sure. She's too dangerous to leave off the grid. As much as he may deserve a respite, as our leading expert into the woman's psychology, Ciao will be utilized heavily in the pursuit team.

Once Au Revoir is in our custody, we'll discuss the future of the Goodbye Girls going forward. With Au Revoir's reinstatement unlikely and Vaarvel dead, we'll be operating at a reduced capacity.
