It was nearing the end of Link's shift, which today meant guarding the east entrance to Castle Town, when a messenger arrived with a letter. Link thanked the very odd delivery person and read the letter quietly. It was from Her Highness, and she was requesting a private meeting in her study. Not one to shirk his responsibilities, Link made sure someone else could come in and cover his shift, then headed towards the castle. Even after living in the large city for almost a full year, some things still shocked him regularly, and the sheer size of the castle was one of them. That's what happens when someone is raised in Ordon, he supposed. It didn't take long to move through the castle hallways and up the stairs to the Royal Study. His new occupation meant regular movement throughout the interior and exterior of the castle, and Link had made sure to memorize as much of the layout as possible.

Once Link had arrived outside the study door, he waited patiently before knocking. "Come in," came an quiet, confident voice from inside. Without further ado Link opened the door and entered the study, his eyes immediately falling on Princess Zelda, who sat at her desk with several large, thick, ancient tomes spread across its surface. She glanced up for a moment as he entered, relief briefly appearing on her face. "Thank you for coming so swiftly, Guardsman Link. I felt it was time to inform you that I've been busy researching..."
