Chapter 7
by daciasdesire
Time for introductions.
Going around the room...
Just as silence seemed to be building between them, all three spoke at once.
“Sorry, we don’t even…”
“I should really…”
“I’m surprised that…”
Each cut themselves off as they noticed they weren’t the only ones to speak. The three of them chuckled which helped to defuse the situation.
“You go first, please,” Virginia said indicating the dark woman.
“I was going to say that I should really introduce myself. I’m Dr Lindsay Jackson. Well, former Doctor. I’m going to have to stop calling myself that,” the woman announced to the couple.
“I’m Virginia and this is Keith,” Ginny said completing the getting to know each other process.
“Nice to meet you both.” Then, “what was it you were going to say before?” Lindsay prompted Ginny.
“Just that we didn’t know your name. And now we do!” Ginny chuckled. The surge of endorphins from their recent encounter had left her feeling giddy and a little lightheaded. After being denied twice, her orgasm when it finally arrived was an extremely immense nature.
“And what about you, Keith?” Lindsay questioned the only one left to say what they'd been meaning to say before.
The Doctor had propped herself up on her arm facing Virginia and Keith who were cuddled together facing her. Lindsay’s tits barely lowered from their high and tight position on her chest.
“It was just that I was surprised to hear you say that you were a Doctor. Please don’t think I’m rude but you don’t seem old enough,” Keith told her with as much sensitivity as he could muster.
“Looks can be deceiving but I’m actually 28. I guess I can thank my parents for my good genes,” Lindsay said modestly.
Keith nodded in understanding. He and Virginia were both in their mid-thirties but Keith could still pass for someone yet to turn 30. He likewise seemed to possess the gift of wonderful youthful African-American genes as Dr Lindsay did.
“At 28 you should just be a new doctor. If you don’t mind me asking, how is it you had your license revoked already?” It was indelicate to ask but there was no other way Keith could think to put it.
Looking deadly serious Lindsay said, “I found out my husband was cheating on me, so I surgically removed one of his testicles while he was sleeping. See what that does for his ego as a one-balled Surgeon.”
Virginia audibly gasped and Keith could feel her press back in him. His wife trying to put what distance she could between herself and this deranged person. The tension in the cabin was suddenly palpable.
“I’m kidding. I’m kidding!” Lindsay said suddenly laughing. “The look on your faces; priceless!” Getting serious she added, “I graduated my school's valedictorian. Top of my class pre-med and then medical school. I married my husband, “The Surgeon,” again that same sarcastic emphasis on his title as his name, “two years before graduating med school and thought he loved me and wanted to nurture and mentor my career. Instead, he just wanted a positive affirmation Black status symbol on his arm to make himself more promotable, less white-bread, for the role of chief of medicine at our hospital. Without the emotional and moral support, I thought he’d give me, the constant 24-hour shifts as a Junior Resident I burnt out. I started missing diagnoses and self-medicating. After my second prescription error and overdose, I was an embarrassment to ‘The Surgeon’ and fired. Speaking of which, how are your medical supplies here? Any Vicodin? Oxy? Percocets?”
“Ahhh…” Keith hesitated. He didn’t want to let the woman know what they had on standby if she was an addict.
She waved him away. “Doesn’t matter anyway. Looks like my three-month NA chip is safe for the weekend.”
“I think you might be stuck with us for a little longer than the weekend,” Virginia told Lindsay. “This blizzard was forecast to last the next three days but judging by the intensity of it, I wouldn’t be surprised if it four or even five days to blow out.” Ginny allowed the information to sink in before asking, “you must be starving. Can I make you some tea or something to eat?”
“Coffee, please. And do you have a robe I can borrow? All my belongings are in the car. Did you bring them inside? I don’t seem to remember where I parked it…”
Keith and Virginia exchanged a worried look. Did Lindsay not recall running off the road?
“Keith, dear, would you put the kettle on for us and I’ll find Lindsay something to wear?”
The rescue cabin Keith and Virginia were stationed in was only small. Built to house a single winter rescue worker couple and one or two guests they might happen to invite. There was a main bedroom with a double bed that they slept in. A second guest bedroom with two single beds that Lindsay could take. Besides that, there was a common bathroom with a shower and a kitchen/living room. It was simple but it was home to the married couple for 6 months out of the year.
When Lindsay had time to sit down and finish a mug of coffee as well as some leftover stew that Virginia had prepared the night before, Keith had some more questions for their rescue victim.
“Lindsay, do you recall at all how you got here?”
“It’s all a bit foggy. I remember driving and the road getting worse and worse,” she said as she scrunched up her forehead in concentration.
“Your Jeep was knocked off the road in landside. We found you about 10 yards down the embankment ****.”
Still thinking intently, “it was knocked. I drove it off.”
This was what was worrying Keith. “Did you truly mean it when you said you’d come out here to end yourself?”
“No.” A long pause. “Well, yes, maybe.”
Virginia reached her hand across the vinyl-covered dining table to comfort the obviously hurting woman. A tear broke free of Lindsay’s eye as they interlinked their hands together.
“It’s just everything in my life has gone wrong. I’m a failure.”
“You’re not,” Ginny soothed her.
“I’m a failure as a Doctor. I’m a failure as a wife. I’m a failure as a woman.”
“That’s simply not true,” Ginny repeated.
“I am. Do you know I’d never had an orgasm until tonight?” Lindsay admitted.
Keith blushed as red as his chocolate skin would allow.
“See! That’s one thing we’ve fixed already.” Virginia laughed looking at her crimson husband. “And can again.” Even with everything the poor woman had said about her life, the sex before had been amazing for Virginia. She’d be crazy not to at least attempt to try it again while Lindsay was stuck with them. Keith could be talked around into it again. He always was. “And I’m sure you can get your medical license back. As for your husband, he sounds like a piece of work and not worth giving two squirts of piss over!”
Lindsay snorted and immediately covered her mouth in embarrassment at the ungodly sound. She never would have expected such a saying to come from lovely Virginia's lips. Her shock turned to laughter once again which soon had all three of them hooting in good times.
Is this the road to recovery?
