Goes back to her room

After what she'd been through tonight, surely there wasn't any way President Snow could make her life worse?

"I-I'd like to go back to my room now please...send President Snow my apologies..."

Katniss followed behind the aide as he led her back to the elevators, her arms firmly across her chest.

As the elevator ascended, Katniss shuffled awkwardly from foot to foot, arms slammed across her body and the occasional tear running down her cheek. The aide loving the sight of the naked, barefoot, flustered, shivering, clearly embarrassed female stood next to him.

"So, you're a virgin then?" he asked her, smirking.

"Y-yes," Katniss mumbled, avoiding eye contact with him.

"You know, the cameras aren't set up in your room yet, if you wanted to make it private I'd be more than willing to oblige."

He brushed her dark hair back off her shoulder, causing Katniss to flinch and shuffle away from him.

"N-no, t-thank you," she squeaked, blushing.

Thankfully, the elevator opened at that moment. The aide smiled as he watched her shuffle back into her apartment on bare feet.

The moment she was inside, Katniss slammed the door closed behind her. She let out an annoyed groan as she saw that the lock had been removed. Was she not allowed any privacy?!

Her stomach was painfully empty, but rather than make for the kitchen, Katniss dived under the covers of her bed, curled into a tight ball, and bawled.

That had been the single most mortifying evening of her life. Nothing, nothing, could get worse than being told that hundreds of people are going to watch you lose your virginity. She supposed she could just stay a virgin for life; she'd never exactly been adventurous with anyone in that way back in 12, unusual for someone of her age...so what if in 10 years time she had the sexual experience of a 15 year old?

But then see realised something.

Yes it could. It was going to get a whole lot worse.
